Harris to Karthik, OUT, and he strikes first ball! Great start for South Africa! Tossed up on the stumps, Karthik loses balance in trying to flick it to leg, the ball lobs up to silly point, they all go up in appeal, and Asad Rauf lifts the finger! Karthik isn't happy...but he has to go...replays clearly show that there was no contact with the fact, Amla let it go as soon as he'd taken in, throwing it back to Boucher to try for the stumping, and even the 'keeper didnt appeal until he'd taken the throw in...a bad call from Rauf...

KD Karthik c Amla b Harris 63 (240m 170b 7x4 0x6) SR: 37.05

India 153/1   W Jaffer 84* (170b 11x4)   PL Harris 11.1-1-29-1

Pollock to Dravid, OUT, gone! Pollock strikes and that's a crucial blow! Pollock hits the perfect line and length outside the off stump and Dravid goes fishing outside off stump and catches thin edge. Boucher behind the stumps makes no mistake. India two down.

R Dravid c †Boucher b Pollock 29 (63m 58b 5x4 0x6) SR: 50.00

India 202/2   W Jaffer 102* (208b 13x4)   SM Pollock 13.5-5-26-1

Steyn to Jaffer, OUT, good catch at second slip! Lands on a back of a good length outside off stump, Jaffer stands and prods at it well away from his body, takes the thick edge, and Kallis holds onto a good catch near his face and moving away, his 100th in Tests, to end Jaffer's vigil

W Jaffer c Kallis b Steyn 116 (360m 244b 15x4 0x6) SR: 47.54

India 240/3   SR Tendulkar 19* (44b 3x4)   DW Steyn 17.1-8-40-1

Steyn to Laxman, OUT, CRACKER! This time he got it all right, line was on middle and off stump and moving away, length was good and the ball moved away every so beautifully. Laxman shaped to defend it but was castled with the outswing. It's a delivery that fast bowlers dream off and Steyn pulls it off, watching the off stump uprooted from the ground. He's struggled with his line this morning but what a line that was! What seam position! A magic ball there

VVS Laxman b Steyn 13 (56m 46b 3x4 0x6) SR: 28.26

India 269/4   SR Tendulkar 33* (76b 5x4)   DW Steyn 24-12-45-2

Harris to Tendulkar, OUT, Harris strikes and that's a massive wicket! Peach of a delivery, bowled from over stumps, pitched outside leg and this one turned and bounced prodigiously. Tendulkar looking to defend it on the back-foot is beaten comprehensive and the edge is produced. Kallis at first slip swoops low and takes a sharp catch. India five down

SR Tendulkar c Kallis b Harris 64 (187m 130b 11x4 0x6) SR: 49.23

India 337/5   SC Ganguly 33* (36b 6x4)   PL Harris 27.4-2-86-2

Harris to Sehwag, OUT, Sehwag tries to heave across the turn but fails to time it properly. The ball clips the top edge and soars to fine leg. Makhaya Ntini moves in from the boundary, dives well forward and plucks a superb catch a few inches from the ground. Once again the left-arm spinner provides South Africa with a crucial breakthrough. Sehwag, who was scoring quickly, is gone. What now?

V Sehwag c Ntini b Harris 40 (49m 50b 6x4 1x6) SR: 80.00

India 395/6   SC Ganguly 51* (60b 8x4)   PL Harris 34-3-115-3

Pollock to Kumble, OUT, SUCKER PUNCH! Pollock unleashes the indipper after two straight deliveries. Back of a length, pitched outside off and cuts back in sharply, Kumble isn't ready for the movement and gets hit flush on the pad in front. Umpire Harper has no doubt and the ball would have probably gone on to hit the top of off stump as Kumble was well into his crease.

India 395/7   SC Ganguly 51* (60b 8x4)   SM Pollock 26.3-8-70-2

Harris to Khan, OUT, GONE! Flighting it from over the wicket, dipping it in late, Zaheer is beaten by the flight and misses the length. Zaheer loses his balance once the ball is past him through the gap between pad and the stumps Mark Boucher, behind the stumps, whips the bails off in rapid motion. Fantastic work from Boucher. A few moments here and there and Zaheer would have been in the crease. His feet were in the air for a couple of seconds and Boucher has cashed in on that chance

Z Khan st †Boucher b Harris 1 (11m 12b 0x4 0x6) SR: 8.33

India 398/8   SC Ganguly 53* (64b 8x4)   PL Harris 35.1-3-116-4

Pollock to Sreesanth, OUT, The return of polly! perfect line and length, pitched on and round the off stump line and shaping away late, Sreesanth had no option but to play at it and the thick edge goes straight to Gibbs at gully. India nine down and now Ganguly has just Munaf Patel for company.

S Sreesanth c Gibbs b Pollock 3 (9m 5b 0x4 0x6) SR: 60.00

India 407/9   SC Ganguly 59* (70b 9x4)   SM Pollock 29-9-75-3

Pollock to Ganguly, OUT, Pollock finishes it off with a slow ball. Well disguised off-cutter on the middle and leg stump line, Ganguly comes down the track in an effort to loft it straight back over the bowler's head but only manages to scoop it high up towards silly mid-off. Amla running in from cover, calls for it and nicely settles under one of the easiest catches you will ever see.

SC Ganguly c Amla b Pollock 66 (159m 75b 9x4 1x6) SR: 88.00
