India in South Africa T20I Match

South Africa v India

India won by 6 wickets (with 1 ball remaining)

Toss Graeme Smith has won his fourth toss in a row and South Africa will bat. During the pitch report Pat Symcox said there's a green tinge to the pitch felt that the ball would move around quite a bit in the second innings and batting would become difficult.

South Africa: Graeme Smith (capt), Loots Bosman, AB de Villiers, Herschelle Gibbs, Tyron Henderson, Justin Kemp, Charl Langeveldt, Albie Morkel, Robin Peterson, Roger Telemachus, Johan van der Wath

India: Virender Sehwag (capt), Sachin Tendulkar, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Dinesh Mongia, Dinesh Karthik, Suresh Raina, Irfan Pathan, Harbhajan Singh, Ajit Agarkar, Sreesanth, Zaheer Khan.

5.30pm The weather is fine and we should get a full game in, reports Dileep Premachandran from The Wanderers.

Hello! Good morning/afternoon/evening depending from where you're tuning into Cricinfo's live coverage of the Pro20 International between South Africa and India at The Wanderers in Johannesburg. Are you familiar with the rules of Pro20? If you aren't, Cricinfo's put it in a nutshell for you.

India, making their Pro20 debut, are the last of the Test playing nations to embrace this explosive format and they have done so after much resistance from the BCCI. Imagine that, Sachin Tendulkar's played 373 one-dayers and this is his first Pro20 match. South Africa, on the other hand, have played three games. They lost the first two but won their third against Australia at Johannesburg by a two runs in February.

Can the likes of Virender Sehwag and Mahendra Singh Dhoni cash in with their big-hitting ways or will South Africa continue their dominance at home. What do you think? Send us your thoughts on Match Vox.

George Binoy and Jamie Alter are your commentators for the day. I'll take you through the first ten overs and Jamie will take over later.

Hate to bring you bad news first up but the news filtering in from South Africa isn't very promising. Rain ruined the first one-dayer at Johannesburg and the weather there is dismal at the moment, much like India's performances so far. The covers are on at the moment but fingers crossed that the clouds clear and we'll get 40 overs of play.

Do read Dileep Premachandran's pre-match report where he says that "Graeme Smith was determined to ensure that India didn't go into the Test series with any shred of confidence." They really haven't looked like winning anything on their tour so far. India lost the warm-up game and got walloped in three ODIs after the first one was washed out. They've often got off to superb starts with the ball in all three matches but just haven't been able to sustain the pressure throughout the innings. South Africa's batsmen got away each time and their bowlers have been so potent that they would be confident of defending anything against a woefully out-of-form Indian batting line-up.

What XI will they field in their first Pro20 game? Send us your thoughts on Match Vox.

South Africa will also make several changes to their side. Haroon Lorgat, the convenor of selectors, said that Mark Boucher, Jacques Kallis, Andrew Hall, Andre Nel, Makhaya Ntini and Shaun Pollock would be rested for the game. The Indian batsmen would have slept better knowing they didn't have to face Ntini and Pollock but they'll remember the beating Rest of South Africa gave them before the start of the ODI series.

Right we're all set for the start. The umpires and players have taken the field and Zaheer Khan has the new ball. He's running in from over the wicket to Graeme Smith, who's dressed in South Africa's bottle-green Pro20 kit. Loots Bosman is at the non-striker's end. Smith hasn't lasted a full over from Zaheer in any of the three ODIs. How will the rivalry unfold here ... Two slips in place, point, cover, mid-off and mid-on

Tendulkar to Langeveldt, 1 leg bye, lands just outside off stump, he walks across the stumps and gets rapped on the pads, not out says the umpire

19.6

Tendulkar to Telemachus, 2 runs, tossed up, slammed down to long-off and they run hard, two is always on the cards and the throw is off, and thats the end of South Africa's innings

Very well bowled that from Tendulkar. So South Africa finish with 126. By Twenty20 standards it's not much at all but keep in mind that the new ball moved around quite a bit and India's batsmen have been in woeful form. Can India notch up their first win of the series of will South Africa trigger another collapse. Send us your thoughts.

India haven't won a match on tour yet, and a win here would do them much good. Zaheer Khan and Ajit Agarkar bowled very well at the start, while Tendulkar and Harbhajan also turned in good displays. No batsman was allowed to run away with the innings. Do join us in 20 minutes for India's reply. George will take you through the first 10 overs.

End of over 20 (6 runs) South Africa 126/9
R Telemachus    5* (3b)      SR Tendulkar    2.3-0-12-1
CK Langeveldt    0* (1b)      Harbhajan Singh    3-0-22-1
