Zimbabwe recovered from the loss of two early wickets to ensure there was no slip-up against Bermuda, as they posted a comfortable six-wicket win.
Sean Williams's unbeaten 72 made sure of the victory as they chased down a modest 137 in just 29 overs. This is the second match in which Williams has impressed; he made 44 in a 106-run defeat against world champions Australia on Tuesday.
Dwayne Leverock also caught the eye again, taking two wickets once more with his spin - but yet again it was to be in a losing cause as Williams and Chamu Chibhabha (30) put on 73 for the third wicket to put Zimbabwe in sight of victory. Leverock removed both Chibhabha and Elton Chigumbura, but Williams signalled his intent by lifting Leverock for six over mid-wicket.
Janeiro Tucker's 56 was the mainstay of Bermuda's 136 after they'd collapsed to 31 for 4 inside 15 overs following Irving Romaine's decision to bat. But Tucker's was a lone hand, with pace bowler Anthony Ireland doing the damage in an opening spell of 3 for 10 in six overs, including a return catch to dismiss David Hemp for a duck. He finished with 3 for 22.
Bermuda gave themselves hope when Kevin Hurdle dismissed Vusi Sibanda for 2 then Terry Duffin edged Saleem Mukuddem to Clay Smith in the slips. But their modest total was never enough.
