Scorecard
USA ladies romped to a comfortable seven-wicket victory to complete a clean sweep in the series in their final game of the ICC Americas Region WCWCQ against Canada at the Maple Leaf Cricket Club in King City.
Chasing a modest 87 for victory, Doris Francis led the charge with a belligerent 24 in 29 balls and was then supported by Candacy Atkins (32 not out), as the visitors eased home with 21.3 overs to spare.
Earlier Canada won the toss and elected to bat, but soon found themselves in trouble at 11 for 2 in the eighth over, with their talented teenager, Mikaela Turik, back in the pavilion without scoring. Canada's only resistance against a relentless USA attack came from Sheryl Tittlemier, who made 26, as Canada lost their last six wickets for 23 runs.
Rohini Prabhune was the seventh bowler used by the USA, and she claimed three wickets for 14 to win the player of the match award. Commenting afterwards Canada coach George Codrington said, "the team will look back on the tournament as a learning experience and will make the necessary steps to see the game increase in popularity among females in the country".
