Commentary

5.14pm So, that's the end of that. Have a read of George Dobell's match report before you go, and tune in next week for the third match. "We will be ruthless," says Morgan. "We want to put out our best XI." Sounds ominous. See you then.

5.11pm And sure enough, Joe Root is Man of the Match. "Jason set the tone, got us miles ahead of the rate. We had to stay calm, and accept the odd over with 1 or 2 off of it. Told Chris to take his time to get in, and let's build something together. He played exceptionally well, and it's a sign of a good team that we don't rely on one or two players."

Finally, Eoin Morgan has a chat. "I sum that up as just a victory," he says. "We were a little sloppy in the field and the chase wasn't ideal. That period where we lost wickets was a bit of a concern, but take your hat off [to Root and Woakes]."

5.09pm So, here we go. Time for a chat with West Indies' captain, Jason Holder. "Disappointing feeling to come so close, we fought really well but dropped some chances in the field. And we need some partnerships up front. You needed to graft to get some runs on this pitch. We've got to know when it is time to seize an opportunity. Tough to lose one of your main bowlers [Shannon Gabriel]. Hopefully we'll get him fit."

5.07pm Presentations coming up shortly. Joel: "Woakes for Man of the Match? I reckon Root will get it because of having the higher score but Woakes' contribution with both bat and ball was invaluable. To go at 3.25/over in an ODI is incredible and without him staying at the crease, I reckon the match would've got away from England. " I'd go Woakes as well, but all will be revealed soon enough ...

5.04pm Gaurav B: "Both teams scored 225 in 47.5 overs. The wickets in hand made all the difference....." That is a very good spot. West Indies could have held onto a few more catches to help their cause as well...

Hypocaust: "Addendum to that Woakes tailender stat - That six took Woakes past Bresnan to become England's leading ODI run scorer in batting positions 8-11. And what an accolade that is. All hail the king of the tail!

4.55pm So, that's the end of that. Not a classic contest by any stretch, but it nearly threatened to be an old-school low-scoring dogfight of an ODI. But Root's class and Woakes' calm head neutered a brave West Indies effort. What might have been if Jason Roy had been given out and England had been 1 for 2, however? His fifty was vital early momentum.

pk: "is there such thing as an unwobbly wobble?" Wibble

Brathwaite to Root, 1 run, a misfield at point, and there it is! England seal the series with a game to spare, after a spirited response to a very wobbly wobble in the middle of the innings

Brathwaite to Root, no run, panned into the covers... not yet ...

Holder to Woakes, no run, lovely delivery! A looping fast leg-break that turns Woakes inside out. A bit late in the day for jaffas, but there you go
47.5
6
Holder to Woakes, SIX runs, picks the slower ball this time, and the scores are level with a mighty bosh over long-off! The hundred partnership too, as Root's hopes of his own hundred are officially ended
47.4

Holder to Woakes, no run, bashed into the covers. This is a good over in the circumstances!
47.3

Holder to Woakes, no run, big appeal as Woakes walks across his stumps, but going down leg
