Commentary

Well, that was utterly emphatic. West Indies cruise to an eight-wicket win with 23 balls remaining, playing like the world champions they are. Lendl Simmons batted in two gears, smiting mighty sixes or looking to nudge the ball around for singles, but that's all that was needed to chase down a sub-par total. Chris Mpofu's double strike gave Zimbabwe some hope, and West Indies might have been under pressure if Taylor had been able to effect a sharp run out. As it was, Bravo and Simmons put on an unbeaten 85 for the third wicket to take their team home with ages to spare. Stick with us for the presentations. In the meantime, if you'd like to commiserate with - or more likely, sledge - me, you can find me on Twitter here.

Alistair Campbell, once again, hosts the presentation ceremony. He chats to Brendan Taylor first. "It's very frustrating that our top three batters are not getting starts," says Taylor. "We can't rely on our middle order to bail us out every time, but Waller and Ervine batted really well today. We made it hard for ourselves, too many dot balls. It's frustrating, we're not playing as well as we can as a unit. Chris [Mpofu] is a good character, a strong character, and we knew he'd bounce back [after the ODIs]."

Winning captain Darren Sammy is all smiles. "It was a clinical game for us, we played really well. We've had some success in this format. We've adapted to this format, and we have the character of players to dominate. Especially after winning the T20 World Cup, we've got a lot of confidence. We'll probably experiment more with our side tomorrow. I also want to encourage the Antiguan families to come out tomorrow and watch, this is the first time we've played here as world champions."

Lendl Simmons is an easy choice for the Man of the Match award. "This was a nice batting track, I enjoyed batting here. I've been playing first class cricket in our regional tournament, so I came into this game with a little bit of form." Not really the loquacious sort.

A final word, from Mark: "Well done Chris Mpofu. He's probably not going to get MoM but when your team has been caned and gone for over 8 an over and the opposition have lost only 2 wickets, to have figures of 4-0-14-2 is sensational."

That's just about all from me today. It's been great fun commentating this match, and I hope I've entertained you too. Thanks for all the fantastic feedback. Do keep it coming, and join tomorrow at the same time for the second Twenty20. Until then, goodbye!

Mpofu to Simmons, 1 run, Mpofu ends his spell, and his work for the day, with an inswinging yorker that only just misses its mark, Simmons digging it out into the leg side.

Mpofu to Bravo, 1 run, chipped in the air out to deep midwicket.

Mpofu to Simmons, 1 run, Simmons aims an ugly heave at a 111kph slower ball, cue-ending the ball down to long on.

Just single figures needed now. Bravo and Simmons should take their side home at a canter.

Mpofu to Bravo, 1 run, Mpofu follows that up with a slower ball, which Bravo places softly into the gap at cover.

Mpofu to Bravo, no run, Mpofu's still got wheels, Bravo ducking under a 136.1kph bouncer.
