Well, that was destructive and dominating from England. You won't see a more convincing Twenty20 victory, and with a series at stake to boot. The record of chasing at this ground continues, but none of the others have been in such style. New Zealand lost the plot in the field, but there was also a different class of the quick bowlers on show as New Zealand's bowlers weren't fast enough to repeat the short-pitched approach of Broad and Finn. It was just a blaze of boundaries. Hales, who started batting with a toothpick, ended playing a tree trunk. Quite an odd series, really, with three such one-sided victories and this the biggest of the three. I'll bring you the presentation shortly.

Dave Fern: "I sent a message right at the start saying I thought New Zealand would get 3 sixes and England 8 sixes. Not a bad guess! Well done England!"

Andy Coan: "Shame the target isn't a bit higher so Hales can put that 99 to bed. Tactical error by Broad that, bowling so well"

Presentation time, Brendon McCullum: "To England, you were far too good tonight. You blew us off the park. Thanks to the crowd for the support, hopefully we will show our fighting characteristics through the summer."

Stuart Broad "Delighted we could put up a display like that. The bowlers were fantastic then the batsman entertained you. We've played hard-fought cricket. Thanks for all the support.

All rather brief, the captains stood at a podium, and no awards handed out with the sponsors handing money to grassroots cricket instead which is laudable. England then get their hands on the trophy so that is that. So the first piece of silverware for the tour is decided. It's onto 50-over cricket now with the one-day series starting in Hamilton on Sunday, so a quick turnaround. We'll be back to bring you all the action but for now, from Andrew McGlashan, it's goodbye and thanks for joining us.

Butler to Lumb, SIX runs

what a way to finish! Lumb launches one over the stands at deep square-leg to give him a half-century and, more importantly, England the series. That was his fifth six of the innings, alongside a single four.

this will be a quick finish, full on middle and leg which gets flicked easily to fine leg

Plenty of glum faces in the New Zealand. One of them, Butler, now has to bowl

McCullum to Lumb, 1 run

have they missed a run out now? Yes, they have, and in some style. Lumb drove towards cover, brilliant work from Guptill at cover who flicked it back to McCullum who then missed the stumps at his first attempt! It won't matter, but that's not good from New Zealand

This is an almighty thrashing

McCullum to Lumb, SIX runs

this one into the crowd again, a classy, lofted off-side drive as Lumb holds his position and shape as he strikes cleanly through the line

McCullum to Lumb, 2 runs

cries of 'catch' as Lumb scoops this in the air over the off side but falls comfortably between all the off-side fielders...was nicely flighted by McCullum

and again! This isn't a contest at the moment as Hales pulls another attempted bouncer into the stands at deep square

powerful stuff, convincing stuff, one-way traffic...down the pitch and drive straight of mid-off

So much for Hales' struggles
