8.3 full and wide, Smith swings and does he edge through to the keeper? England think so and immediately review umpire Dharmasena's not out decision. Doubt centred on whether the ball bounced before or after hitting the bat, the toe of which also banged into the ground ... but replays show a definite nick through to the keeper and the review succeeds! 22/1
18.3 gone! Finn makes his mark. And he's not kicked the stumps. Short of a length angling down the leg side, Petersen pushed away from his body and it comes off the glove to Prior who takes a good tumbling catch to his left 49/2

18.6 gone! Two in the over! What an over from Finn. Beautiful delivery, full length which nips back between bat and pad to crash into the top of off stump. For once, Amla's footwork just let him down but full credit to Finn. 50/3
20.3 We have another review for a catch down the leg side. Was the hand even on the bat? This is a tight call. Is there clear evidence it actually hit the glove? There's a noise for sure. The ball has brushed the bottom hand but it is off the bat by the looks of these replays. Enough doubt for a not-out by the looks of it, but Rod Tucker having a long look. Oh, my goodness, he's given him! This will be controversial. That hand did not look as though it was on the bat and, remember, it was given not out on the field. Had to be conclusive evidence 54/4
38.1 full, drawn into driving and a low edge flies to third slip where Cook takes a fantastic catch! For all that de Villiers can seem an lbw candidate, he nicked off in the corridor in regulation fashion there and England have clung on to a tough chance where earlier in the series they were shelling easy ones 105/5

57.3 bowled him! Back of a length and Rudolph has played across it and been bowled, poor stroke and that's the breakthrough England wanted. Rudolph tried to work it into the leg side and got an bit of an inside edge into middle stump, poor way to go 163/6
80.3 wide, leaving him ... and he's bottom-edged through to Prior! Duminy's given it away, after hauling South Africa up towards a respectable total, swishing at a ball he could have left well alone and scraping a thin nick to the keeper 235/7
101.2 Philander advances, Swann drags it down and he's well out of his ground as the ball sails through to Prior, who completes the stumping. Philander obviously decided it wasn't worth waiting to see how long Tahir lasted, but his first attempt at a Farah (Mighty Mo) failed 309/10
91.4 this time Steyn does connect and second slip pouches the catch! Broad gets his reward, a regulation thick snick as Steyn tried to mow the ball down the ground. He'd obviously had enough of protecting his head from short balls 270/8
100.4 slashes at a wide one and feathers through to Prior who takes a fine diving catch! Finn went round the wicket, sent down a pretty filthy ball, short and wide, which Morkel chased. It came off the toe, flew towards first slip but wouldn't have reached him, with Prior going for it one-handed to his left and coming up trumps 307/9

10.4 gone! Morkel's got him again! He's fully deserved that wicket after working over both openers. This was a fuller delivery, came back with the angle and goes past Strauss' inside edge to crash into the stumps. Strauss really has no answer to Morkel. The umpire checks for the no-ball but it's fine. What a time to strike for South Africa 29/1
15.2 got him! Cook inexplicably really chases a wide one and nicks to Kallis at second slip, that is a very good grab by the slip fielder and more importantly that is shocking, shocking stroke by Cook, and as I said, totally inexplicable. He leant out and chased a full, wide delivery that was angled across him, for some reason tried to drive it and nicked off, very very poor judgement from Cook, most unlike him 39/3
13.5 full, angling in, Trott misses trying to play to leg, cry for leg before, not out and Smith goes for a review, looked to be sliding down for me, he didn't hit it, did it straighten, yes it did that is out and Trott's bad run against Steyn continues. It was fired in straight and Trott missed it, we've seen that before, an excellent review from Smith 38/2
61.5 Philander strikes, caught at third slip! He's been metronomic with his line in this over and finally Bell's flirt results in a kiss of the edge, the ball flying low to to Petersen, who makes no mistake, despite the long wait 178/5
23.2 got him! Taylor feeling a little outside the off stump and nicking to first slip where it carries through low and Smith hangs on well coming forward, a good grab. Probing line again and it produces an edge, Taylor's inexperience perhaps showing there as he followed it slightly and got a healthy edge that was well taken 54/4

92.4 oh bowled him! What a shame for Bairstow, he was aiming towards midwicket and it got past his flick and into middle and off stumps, simply played around it and probably got done under the pressure, saw a straighter ball, tried to work it away and paid the price, patience pays off for South Africa who have bowled really well to him for the last half hour 264/8
80.1 gone! The new ball works first ball. Very loose shot by Prior who chases a full delivery that swings away and gets a big edge to second slip where Kallis takes a neat catch. That couldn't have gone better for South Africa 221/6
87.3 got him! Short ball into the hip and Broad fends it off so awkwardly he chips it to short leg. Hostile delivery and Broad was cramped up trying to ride it into the leg side but played it badly and chipped up a simple chance to Amla, looked to be straight off the shoulder of the bat 252/7

97.6 and the short ball works! Rudolph runs in from point to take the catch after Anderson loops the ball high into the air off the shoulder of the bat, he was trying to get out of the way of a real snorter ... and you can't more out of the way than back in the dressing room 283/9
107.3 miscued drive and this loops to point, where Duminy makes sure he doesn't do a Smith, to send Finn on his way for a useful 10 315/10

24.3 full and straight and gone, lbw! Petersen played across the line and the ball cannoned into the front pad, Broad's face lit up almost as quickly as Simon Taufel's finger went skyward. Petersen, having scored 10 runs off his last 47 balls, has been winkled out and that hole gapes a little wider! 50/2
21.5 flatter, angled in at the stumps, rush of blood for Smith, who sweeps wildly and is hit on the front pad! He thinks long and hard about reviewing but eventually elects not to and Hawk Eye suggests he was just in line, it would have stayed umpire's call, with the ball to go on and hit middle 46/1

88.1 oh what a beauty! Taken out off stump, that straightens up the hill and beats the outside edge onto off stump, absolutely cracker from Finn, crucially on the right length drawing the batsman forward and for the second time in the match, Finn produces a gem to get rid of Amla 259/5

46.1 hit on the pad, big appeal and Kallis goes straight upstairs reckoning he hit it, I don't think he's hit it, it was given out, he was hit on the back leg, is this going over, clipping the stumps will do for England and indeed it is clipping the stumps, more than clipping in fact and Kallis is gone what a big wicket for England. Well bowled from Finn who was wide on the crease and angled one past the defensive push of Kallis 131/3
58.5 gone, England break through with a short ball. Angled into Steyn and he fends it awkwardly off the splice of the bat to offer a simple catch to Taylor at short leg 164/4
90.6 another one! And now de Villiers is caught at slip, superb length and again goes up the hill, takes the outside edge and Strauss bags the chance at slip, a double quick strike for Finn and are England back in this now? Finn gets it absolutely on the spot, de Villiers was squared up and got an thick outside edge that went to Strauss at waist height, he would have been shot if he had spilled that 268/6
96.5 another screamer in the corridor outside off and Rudolph goes, snicking through to the keeper! This is a tremendous spell from Finn, who couldn't be more menacing if he was a grey triangle circling in the shallows at the beach ... It was a good length ball, lifting and straightening as Rudolph squared up to defend, caressing the outside edge on its way past. A corker! 282/7

118.3 cut to point and caught so Anderson goes make the breakthrough, Philander has simply cut a short wide one to the fielder, a mistake but his contribution has tipped things significantly in South Africa's favour. But this is a poor ending, trying to cut away a wide long hop he has picked out Bairstow perfectly, Anderson might have slipped on the popping crease too 336/8
123.1 beaten outside off, then Prior whips off the bails and they've gone upstairs and this is out Prior has waited for Morkel to lift his back foot, then whipped off the bails at just the right point, absolutely superb work from Prior, he tried it earlier with Rudolph but didn't get it right, this time however, he was spot on. For some reason, Morkel takes a stride out of his crease and then lifts the back foot! No idea why he's done that but it was fabulous work from Prior 348/9
124.2 and that's it, a full toss shatters the stumps as Tahir backs away! South Africa are all out and England will need to chase down a record target of 346 in order to retain their No. 1 ranking 351/10

3.5 disastrous decision to leave and Strauss is nailed bang in front of middle! Philander has decapitated England in the gloaming at Lord's, the crowd falls silent and Strauss trudges off. He wanted to do anything other than play at Philander, such was his uncertainty, and he ended up shouldering arms to a fullish ball that helds its line, hit him on the knee roll and left Taufel with an easy decision 6/2
1.2 pitched up and hit bang in front - gone! Philander may have had a quiet series but he starts with a bang here, bringing one back into Cook on a full length, inside the line of his defensive push, similar to his first-inings dismissal at Headingley. Would have gone on to hit the top of off 5/1
51.1 and that's a magnificent dismissal, Kallis diving to his left to take the catch off a brute of a lifter outside off! Steyn removes Trott again, with his first ball after lunch, it was right on the money, banged in and rising as Trott played with an angled blade, a thick edge soaring into the slips where Kallis closed his big bear hands around it 146/6
18.3 gone! Smith juggled it but held on at the second attempt. Bell flashing away outside off stump to a back-of-a-length delivery and the top flies towards first slip where it jumps out Smith's hands but he stays calm and grabs the rebound 34/3
25.6 oh goodness, what a shambles from England! Run out going for a fourth. Sums things up for the home side. Trott flicked it nicely wide of mid-on, the ball pulled up short of the boundary and there was confusion about trying for an all-run four...Trott started and stopped, Taylor committed himself and there was no way back. 45/4
42.6 got him, bowled! Bairstow stays back and the ball scuttles through low to end a busy, stirring innings. It pitched on leg and spun across, the batsman should have been forward and cou'dn't get his bat down as the ball clattered into off 134/5
82.4 edged and this time he has to go! Prior's valiant knock is over and England's jig is almost up. Philander has worked the trick, drawing a loose shot drive outside off, clipping the edge and flying low to first slip, where Smith crouches to take it cleanly 294/9
67.4 and now the short ball works as Broad hooks down to long leg and Amla comes in to take the catch, a good grab too coming in a few yards off the rope and took the catch low down with both hands, so the bouncer works again to Broad 208/7
78.4 is that a run-out? Yes, it is, Swann is gone! The ball was outside edged short of point, they tried to steal another run, Duminy's throw to the non-striker's end wasn't great but Tahir reacted brilliantly to field the ball and throw it at the stumps, Swann just a few inches short 282/8
