1.25pm More bad news tricking in for New Zealand. BJ Watling won't be able to keep wicket. Here is what their release says: "BLACKCAPS batsman BJ Watling won't take any further part in today's One Day International after straining his left quadricep during the first innings of the match against the West Indies at Warner Park, St Kitts. Watling sustained the injury while running between the wickets. He received treatment from the team physiotherapist when on five runs and managed to bat on before being dismissed for 40. Tom Latham will take over the wicket-keeping duties.

He will be monitored and assessed over the next 24 hours to determine his management and availability for the remainder of this series."

So an underwhelming effort again from New Zealand. Short boundaries, flat pitch, against Gayle, Samuels, Bravo, Pollard etc, 249 might not prove enough. Batsmen got starts but couldn't convert them. Those who when mid-range couldn't get a century. West Indies remained disciplined more often than not, and reaped rewards. Their repay starts at around 1.45pm. New Zealand will need to play out of their skins to save this one

Russell to McCullum, OUT, length ball, slower ball, 116ks, outside off, McCullum sees an opportunity to get under it, but is slightly too early into this, and goes only as far as deep midwicket. A fighting hand from McCullum but one that is not likely to be enough

Russell will bowl the last over
