So that's that i'm afraid. Not a ball today but plenty of cricket coming up this weekend. Tomorrow we have ball-by-ball commentary of Australia's first ODI on their tour of the British Isles. They're over in Dublin to play Ireland at 10.45 BST tomorrow so join us then and make sure you're logged on for the final match of West Indies' tour of England, a T20 to wrap things up, 14.30 on Sunday, we'll have live coverage from Trent Bridge. See you then and goodbye for now...

1.05pm Hello again, we've had the word and today's match has been abandoned. Definitely the right decision because we've had bucketloads of rain in Leeds last night, again this morning and it's forecast to continue for the rest of the day too so no option really but to abandon the match. Mercifully, we haven't been left hanging for as long as the final day of the Edgbaston Test.

12.45pm "Maybe the sun only likes Stuart Broad? Whenever he is rested it hoses it down." England have, conveniently perhaps, avoided full matches when they have rested players Steve. Still, I'd like to see the next batch of England players getting exposure to international cricket. And for anyone who says these reverse players aren't as good to watch, they've obviously never seen Stuart Meaker bowl!

12.15pm More to come on Kaneria's ban but for now it's still raining at Headlingley, where they are taking lunch at 12.30pm - totally irrelevant for an ODI - and the umpires are going to try and inspect the ground at 1.15pm so we might even get a decision to abandon the game shortly after that. "Would this game be allowed into a day/night ODI if the rain doesn't lift?" Asks Mark. I don't think so. We can go on past the scheduled close to get a game in, mimimum 20-overs per side, but there will be a cut-off time where we can't start any game after that.

11.45am BREAKING NEWS: Former Pakistan international Danish Kaneria has been found guilty on two charges by an ECB disciplinary hearing into spot-fixing. The panel said of Kaneria's evidence: "We consider in many respects his evidence simply does not stand up to scrutiny and is plainly lies." They conclude that "Kaneria knowingly induced Mervyn Westfield not to perform on his merits in the Durham match [where he agreed to concede 12 runs in an over in September 2009]. It is self evident that such conduct brings the game of cricket and cricketers into disrepute." Sanctions are to follow...

11.15am "I'm barely 50 meters away from the stadium at work. This is a washout for sure. Rain is not heavy but persistent and it doesnt look like it will clear at all today. Usually when its like this it rains all day. No chance of play me thinks." Thanks for that outlook Gurvinder. Great, really great...

"Regarding the first ODI between Aus and Eng, I am sorry to say that i wont be able to log on... as i'll be there!!! Come on the Aussies. I only hope this English summer produces some sunshine." Very nice Green and Gold. It'll turn out sunny at some stage don't worry...October perhaps? It was a beautiful month last year! Come to think of it, Boxing Day was also pleasant...

11am Even if we do get no play today, still the T20 on Sunday before West Indies fly home and then the Aussie's are in town. Next Friday, June 29, is the first ODI of a five-match series. Make sure you're logged on for that one.

10.45 There is at least some cricket going on the world today. A touch drier in Galle for the first Test between Sri Lanka and Pakistan, with the hosts making good progress with the bat.

10.30am Here's the weather forecast and as you can see, it is not inspiring too much hope of play today. No toss has been made and there are puddles on the outfield. Oh dear.

Good morning or not so good morning as it appears to be in Leeds at the moment. Live coverage of the third ODI today with me Alex Winter, Monty Gardner joining me later on, but unfortunately the rain has returned. We enjoyed three lovely days at the start of this week, summer seemed to have returned, but sadly a fresh front has swept in off the Atlantic Ocean and we could be struggling for cricket today.
