Williamson's the man of the hour for New Zealand, a bright light for them in a series they lost. Well done to van Wyk and Bracewell as well for supporting Williamson, they batted with him for almost 44 overs. New Zealand were reeling at 83 for 5, and South Africa should have won it from there. But dropped catches, a couple off Williamson and another crucial one off Bracewell towards the end of the day, cost them a win. Williamson took advantage of those reprieves and went on to play a mature, determined knock that saved his team from defeat and salvaged a draw. Morne Morkel bagged career-best figures, Philander had to settle for his worst in a phenomenal Test career thus far - not that he bowled badly, however. Steyn attacked and bowled with good pace but the weak link in a good bowling effort was de Lange, who was slightly inconsistent. It's a result New Zealand will settle for after conceding the advantage in the first innings. Time for the presentation.

Morne Morkel is Man of the Match: "A little bit tired, lots of hard work today. We'll enjoy taking this trophy back to South Africa. The ball has been coming out quite nicely, luckily today things worked out for me. I'm happy with the performance today. We're quite happy with this, with the weather here, the wind and rain etc."

Brendon McCullum: "It's been an indifferent summer for us, we've learnt a lot of lessons from this South African team. Hopefully we'll continue to learn. Great performances today from Kane and Kruger and Doug as well. This is one of the most impressive units to come to our shores in a while. Thank you for your time and stiff competition. Thanks to the fans as well."

Graeme Smith: "Baz, thanks for the kind words. Thanks for an awesome summer out here in New Zealand. Well played, Kane, congratulations on your hundred. It's been a terrific summer, we've walked away with three trophies, you can all be proud of your performance. Thanks to our fans back in South Africa, it means a lot to all of us. Thanks to everyone in New Zealand as well."

Shane Bond hands the series trophy to the South African team and they now pose for the cameras.

It's been a good Test series, folks, and the better team throughout the tour ended up winning it. Thanks for tuning in to our coverage and sending us your comments, lots of interesting points and observations that's helped generate a healthy debate on our commentary forum. Andrew Fernando's doing the report for this match, and it's being updated as I type. Keep a watch on the stories that will be filed by our South Africa correspondent, Firdose Moonda, who's in New Zealand covering this tour. You can also direct your attention to another Test match happening in Sri Lanka, with the hosts taking on England in Galle. Many thanks again. Adios, Sid.

80.2
Philander to Doug Bracewell, no run

appeal for lbw, they have no reviews left but that may have been going down leg, angling in and swingig in, landed on leg stump and it struck him on the pads, was probably going further down, ball-tracking confirms it

The new ball has been taken, the last over of the match. Philander has it. Three slips, a gully and a short leg
