Commentary

That will be all from us for this Test. Join us for the ODI series which begins from September 8 at 9.30 am local time (12.30 pm Pakistan time). This is Abhishek Purohit signing off on behalf of ESPNcricinfo. Thanks for all the feedback. Cheers

Mohammad Hafeez is the Man of the Match. Hafeez: "I am very happy and satisfied, we were away from international cricket for three months, we worked hard in the training camp. My plan was to play aggressively, I thought that if I played out too many balls, it would bring pressure on me. My bowling is up to the team requirement, I will give credit to the fast bowlers. The captain used me really well. It was a good Test wicket, the more you play on such pitches, you learn."

Misbah-ul-Haq: "I am pleased with the way we played, we were under a bit of pressure when they made 410, our bowlers did a tremendous job. We went with three seamers as there was a bit of green grass on the wicket, credit to their batsmen, they put us under pressure. We responded very well after that, I am really proud of my team. We were hopeful with the way the wicket started turning on the second and third day, we were sure if we bowled in the right channels, we would create pressure, and we got them cheaply in the end. I am happy about Cheema, the way he bowled, his attitude, he is a very hard worker."

Brendan Taylor: "Lot of credit to Mawoyo, he was outstanding, lots of positives but we have to improve. I think it was nerves followed by quality bowling, we let ourselves down a bit technically (in the second innings). Dropped catches did not help, there will be regret, but credit to Pakistan. We will keep improving. Harare (against Bangladesh) was a totally different wicket, lot quicker, we managed to get both games to five days."

Pakistan have wrapped up the win in just under two hours on the final day. Not many jitters in the small chase after Hafeez blazed away again. Pakistan were given the opening by Zimbabwe's jittery batting yesterday, and they barged in. Before that, they accumulated resolutely to get past Zimbabwe's total, helped by Hafeez's ton and those numerous dropped catches from Zimbabwe

Tino Mawoyo's marathon knock the big positive for Zimbabwe. Apart from that, a pretty solid debut for Greg Lamb, and Jarvis continues to improve. A timely welcome to Test cricket for Vitori after his fairytale debut against Bangladesh. He has lots of time to go back and work though

Miher: "Actually Pakistan is adding too much grit to middle order, Misbah, Younis, Azhar and Asad Shafiq (if he comes in) aren't even able to rotate strike. which puts too much pressure on the hitters... Miandad and Moin were slow in difficult conditions but they always managed to rotate strike." They need all the grit they can find Miher. Those four names provide a pretty solid look to the middle order

Price to Misbah-ul-Haq, FOUR runs, Misbah does it for Pakistan with a graceful straight loft to the long off boundary, just goes through with the shot, big followthrough, the ball trickles in to the boundary

Price to Misbah-ul-Haq, no run, appeal for lbw as Misbah misses his slog sweep, that was going down leg
21.2
0
Price to Misbah-ul-Haq, no run, guided on the off side, Younis wants the run, isn't getting it, too many men close around the bat in that region
