36.1 Kumar strikes, Strauss's long vigil ends. Is this an elaborate set-up? After bowling wide and wide last over, he bowls this sucker ball around off, making Strauss drive, which moves away and takes the edge through to third slip. Most likely it isn't a set-up, we just happen to read too much into things at time 85/4
5.2 Cook is pinged on the pad once more, propping forward in defence. There's an appeal ... and it's given! This didn't look nearly as good a shout as the one in the last over, but Marais Erasmus thought about it and raised the finger. Well, replays suggest that while he was hit in line, that was probably going over the top. No DRS for lbw's though, and England have lost their first wicket 7/1
10.4 edged, gone! Swinging away outside off, Trott comes forward to drive and nicks the ball straight to Laxman at second slip. That was just the line Sreesanth was bowling to Strauss, but it's perfect to the right-hander. That'll calm Sreesanth down, a great way for him to start after coming back into the side. 23/2
27.5 How huge is that wicket? Outswinger, just short of a length, outside off, not a ball that KP had to play at, but he did. Fatally. Tried to withdraw late, but by then the edge had been taken, through to Raina at third slip 73/3
50.2 Bell has thrown it away! He has worked so hard, he has had a life, he has shown good judgement when leaving, but this one is a loose loose shot. This is short and wide, and he has a limp nibble at it, it seems to be a faint bottom edge, and the ball goes wavily to Dhoni. It almost wobbles out, but sticks in Dhoni's webbing. That's swing after it passed the stumps. It was actually the toe end of the bat 124/8
36.4 England are falling fast here. Morgan collects a duck. This is superb bowling. From close to the umpire he bowls, the ball pitches just inside the line, catches Morgan on the crease, and according to Rauf wouldn't have moved away enough to miss the stumps. Morgan confirms with the umpire if he is leg-before or caught bat-pad. The umpire says lbw. And off he goes. Hawkeye confirms Rauf's call, for what it is worth. Hitting the top of off, it says 85/5
39.5 that's the magic delivery. Not much Prior could have done with this. Sreesanth doesn't need to appeal or mock-appeal for this one. It pitches off, short of a length so Prior can't come forward and cover the swing, but has to play at it. It leaves him then, squaring him up, taking the edge, through to Dravid at first slip. Sreesanth points a finger to the sky. This has been a high-quality spell 88/6
48.2 Dravid dropped a much easier one than this! First of all the ball is a peach again. Back of a length, angling in, pitching around off, then holding its line. Bresnan, who has shown a tendency to open up a bit, is squared up completely. A thin edge ensues, and Dravid has to dive low to his left, and takes it clean as a whistle. These are the catches you should be at the ground for. When they go smoothly into the palm, that sound of a clean slip catch is just beautiful 117/7
68.4 and the innings ends. Broad finds a fielder at long last, but only just. Harbhajan doubles his tally of wickets for the series. Flighted in the zone, Broad backs himself to clear Tendulkar at deep midwicket and goes for the slog-hoick. He makes good connection, but not good enough. Tendulkar takes it. 221/10
61.6 whoa, the stand has ended, Praveen has produced a magic ball to send Swann packing. The crowd breaks out into warm applause as he goes off, what a stupendous effort from Swanny! Praveen gets one to snort from just short of a length, I wonder how often he has managed to produce something like that with his 125 kph fare. This pitch is full of tricks, I tell you. Swann was leaning forward as it took off and was caught unawares. It kept coming at him as he tried to pull back and evade it, hit the handle and popped up for an easy catch at gully, even as he turned all the way around in shock. India appeal, Swann walks. Praveen has a wicket, but he continues to scowl. What a character! 197/9

0.1 a wicket first ball! Mukund plays a loose drive and edges to gully! The crowd is going berserk! Full from Anderson, pitches it up from over the stumps outside off and looking for the airy drive. Mukund obliges. Horrendous shot to play first ball, he gets half across and looks to drive straight. His feet are in Lord's, his shot is being played at Trent Bridge. Classic set up, clean edge, nicely held. England on top. India have lost all the specialist openers they have on tour off the first ball of this innings. 0/1
88.2 there goes another one! India are falling in a heap here. Dravid was looking to push on and backed to leg, flashing an uppercut to Alastair Cook at third man. Bresnan strikes immediately upon coming back into the attack, and England are hunting just one more wicket, with two tailenders at the crease. The end of a great Test knock from Dravid, it must be said 273/9
35.4 this time he has edged it and Prior has gobbled it up, Bresnan leaps for joy as Trent Bridge regains its voice, Laxman goes after yet another Test fifty that will remain a fifty, similar delivery as the previous one, bit more effort, bit more bite, bit more lift as it left Laxman from just short of a length, Laxman played a touch away from the body and the angled bat only edged the ball straight to Prior 93/2
43.6 oh Sachin! Nothing delivery from Broad but somehow Tendulkar has managed to top edge his cut shot straight into the gleeful hands of Strauss at first slip! No mistake from the England captain this time, and the game has been blown open 119/3
50.3 Raina gone! Soft dismissal. It was a pretty short and wide ball and Raina, again pinned in the crease, just leant back and prodded it to Morgan in the gully. Broad earned Anderson that wicket and England are almost back in this contest 139/4
85.4 edged, gone! Yuvraj's innings comes to an end. Bounce and seam movement did for him. Broad hit a length outside off and found some extra bounce with the hard new ball, Yuvraj poking defensively with no great certainty and managing only to get a feather through to Prior. 267/5
87.3 there's another one! Dhoni stands at the wicket, his feet in cement, and flashes at an outswinger, Anderson easily pouching the edge at second slip. England are surging now. India's lead is 52, but we're rapidly getting into the tail here. 273/6
87.4 gone first ball! Broad pings the pad, up goes Marais Erasmus' finger, he's on a hat-trick! Harbhajan really isn't happy with that, he wants to review it but it's an lbw, so he can't. Big inside edge, he's very unfortunate to be on his way. 273/7
87.5 clatter! Hat-trick for Stuart Broad! Praveen had no answer to this delivery, it jagged viciously in off the pitch and the batsman pushed at it more in hope than anything else. The crowd are singing now, Broad raises the ball to all corners of the ground in appreciation. What a lift for England. What a turn-around for Broad from the beginning of this summer. 273/8
91.1 great catch from Bell to end the innings! And yet another wicket for Broad. Sharma aimed a wild hook at a throat-high bouncer, the ball coming off possibly glove and body and looping towards Bell, who put his hand up to pluck it out of the air 288/10

19.1 Loose shot from Strauss. They are two down, and still in arrears. Sreesanth has bowled outswingers all morning, but this one goes with the angle, after pitching just outside off, Strauss has a tentative little poke at it before trying to pull the bat out of the way. Too late. Sreesanth strikes 57/2
3.4 gone this time! Back swings the match once again! Cook's poor series continues. Trying to defend this to leg, leading edge looped to gully! Poor shot, really, playing across the line 6/1
77.6 Bell is out this time. No appeals. No question marks. No boos. No need to reverse any decision. Short ball outside off, it seemed to hurry on to Bell, and he did not have much width to cut. It got big on him, hit the top edge and went straight to the lone slip. Soft dismissal to end a sublime innings. The only time India looked like getting him out, they chose to call him back. He's put England in pole position here. 323/4
55.2 Sreesanth is the man! Massive breakthrough, that partnership was looking matchwinning. Loose shot in the end. It was back in the channel but unlike the ball before Pietersen aimed a booming drive and could only edge through to Dhoni 219/3
80.2 the new ball does the trick. Morgan is gone, edging another nifty little outswinger through to MSD. A fine innings, but he will be the first to admit India gifted him some of those runs with those part-timers on. 329/5
102.4 Surprisingly, against the trend, India take a wicket. Only just about, I might add because Dhoni almost fluffed it. This was back of a length, pitching just outside off, Prior played at it, the bball moved away, took the edge, and almost popped out of Dhoni's glove. It didn't, however 458/7
82.4 Trott's gone, India are right back in it. Or are they? Broad's yet to bat ... Meanwhile, lovely ball from Praveen, he gets it to do a Garner on Trott from just outside off. Short of a length outswinger, lands innocuously back of a length and then jumps up as it goes away. Trott was pressing forward, and too far committed to pull back of drop the wrists. The ball kissed the glove and carried to Dravid at slip. PK scowls. Always means he is happy. 339/6
115.5 Bresnan won't get a century! As good as the innings was, credit should also go to Kumar who has bowled his heart out. This one has extra bounce from a length, leaves him too, and takes the shoulder of the bat towards gully. Bresnan gets a deserved ovation as he walks back 540/9
115.4 India get a run-out, and it can't be reversed. England have been running India ragged, here Baod pushes straight to towards cover, and wants the single. Substitute Saha swoops in, and throws underarm to catch Broad short 540/8
120.2 driven straight down Saha's throat at mid-off. And literally at his throat, and it misses the hands and hits him in the throat-chest area, but he takes the rebound 544/10

13.5 brilliant ball from Bresnan, Mukund was clueless against that bouncer, no idea how to keep that steepler down, he tries to fend at it, takes his eyes off the ball, edged to first slip, India 31 for 3 31/3
3.6 Is that the Test? Broad has done it again. Lovely bowling. Just short of driving length, Dravid comes forward, feeling for it, and then the ball leaves him and rears off too, a thin edge is taken, and collected by prior in front of his face 6/1
6.6 Laxman is cleaned up, superb from Anderson, great delivery that, doesn't come in as much as Laxman expects, he ends up playing off the front foot down the wrong line, off stump is out of the ground, England all over India here, Laxman has that familiar how-did-that-happen look after he is dismissed 13/2
36.3 gone! Tendulkar falls, and with him - you feel - India's last hope. Anderson jagged one extravagantly in off the pitch as Tendulkar raised his arms to leave, the ball rapping the pads and the umpire upholding the appeal. That really should be the telling blow for India. Anderson is really pumped up with the wicket, he's not holding back in his celebrations: that's the seventh time he's had Tendulkar's wicket. A definite lapse in judgement from Tendulkar, but not nearly as bad as Dhoni's 107/7
15.5 Raina is gone, India are imploding, this is not a shot he'll want to see again, the Bresnan short ball does the job again, he looks to pull the ball from outside off, gets the top edge and it swirls down to fine leg where the substitute pouches it 37/4
25.5 got him this time and it's that strange slip position that takes it! The short ball is what does for Yuvraj in the end! Bresnan hammers down a bouncer that Yuvraj jumps up and fends horribly. He had no idea about it and it looped up on the off side where Cook, running back from a very silly slip position close to the bat, snaffles the chance 55/5
25.6 gone first ball! Oh Dhoni, you can't leave that! Full and nipping back and before Dhoni could even thrust a pad out he'd been struck. Rauf had it hitting and replays confirm. Bresnan on a hat-trick on Yorkshire day! 55/6
39.3 this time Elstone holds on! Just ... He's breathing a sigh of relief now. Harbhajan hooked at a short one, the ball rocketing up and arcing down towards fine leg, where Elstone set himself, juggled the chance just a little, and finally clutched it to his chest. There's warm congratulations from the England team, who are now just two wickets away from a 2-0 series lead. It's also well worth mentioning that Elstone's catch has given Bresnan his first five-for in Tests, a great effort. He raises the ball to salute the roaring crowd. 129/8

As it is, he completes a crushing victory with a yorker into the base of middle stump as Sreesanth backed away. That is an immense performance from a very good side indeed. They can't lose the series now 158/10
