This is when West Indies last won a match.

Rakesh: "WOW! The most Derided WI captain ever, wins a test of his bowling and to be honest, he really has bowled well. Great to WI play on such a pitch and pull off such a victory."

Test cricket continues to confound. Everyone was talking about Bishoo's bowling as the fourth innings - he got none, and it was Sammy who starred on the final day.

Richard: "Surely Bishoo will get consideration for Man of the Match if West Indies wrap this up. 39 runs plus at least 4 wickets. Sure, may Rampaul or Sammy will also garner consideration. But that last partnership of the second innings was crucial." Yeah, this could go any way.

Mazher Arshad: "Key stat of the match: Partnership for 10th wicket between Chanderpaul and Bishoo was of 48 runs. West Indies win the match by 40 runs. " And don't forget the lower-order resistance from Roach in the first innings.

Ashok: "Windies have played with Fire in Providence."

We are set for the presentation ceremony.

Misbah: "To lose the Test is disappointing, but I think they played better cricket than us, they bowled disciplined lines. We dropped so many catches and gave away so many runs to the lower order, little disappointing from the batting view also. I think the team really tried hard, especially yesterday after we lost three wickets, once again I'll say, most of the guys got out to good balls, and the guys bowled really well in the second innings to bring us back in the game. Ajmal was amazing, he gave us a chance to win this match."

Sammy: "It's a good feeling. this is all West Indies cricket, we as a team needed this performance, it was total team effort and it was good to come out with a win. It is the belief that is there in the guys, Ottis asks everyone to go out there and practice batting. It was a wicket to bowl straight on. Lately things haven't been going well but I still have the belief and the rest of the team also have belief. Rampaul looks fit and has worked really hard with Gibson, it was a tough decision between him and Fidel. Normally St Kitts is similar to Providence, it is still only one victory, we still have to continue working hard and improving." Sammy is also the Man of the Match

Mazher writes in: "In St John's (Antigua) 2000, Wasim Akram took 11 wickets and Pakistan lost. Today, in Guyana 2011, Saeed Ajmal takes 11 wickets and Pakistan loses :("

So, West Indies go 1-0 up in the two-Test series, which means Pakistan will have to wait some more before they can win a Test series in the Caribbean.

Mike from West Indies: "Ahh if only this was a 3 test series. Wonderful match. To those complaining about quality, i say go home, and stop being so cynical. This test had everything, and it should be applauded for that."

I've had great fun bringing you the ball-by-ball of a topsy-turvy Test. Thanks all for mailing in your thoughts, join us again for the second Test starting May 20. This is Siddarth Ravindran signing off. Good night!

Sammy to Umar Akmal, OUT

that's pretty much the game for West Indies, Sammy is away on a celebratory run, the lbw count keeps spiralling, his stump-to-stump line working wonders here, as usual it pitched back of a length and came in, Akmal looked to defend off the front foot, it sneaks past the bat and hits the pad in front of off and middle, there's no doubt about this one, and he couldn't have reviewed it anyway, Sammy has four wickets, well, well, well, who'd thunk that?

Luke: "J from the UK has a point. I don't see that they're quite as bad as he makes out but the problem with both sides seems to be systematic rather than talent. In any case, just when I build up enthusiasm for the two tier I watch England in the WI or PK vs SA in the UAE and think, "well....""
