In the end, a comprehensive 58-run win for South Africa and a 3-2 win though it didn't seem like it would be that convincing given Pakistan's start to the chase. The introduction of Jacques Kallis into the attack turned the game, however, with three wickets falling in a space of three overs. Afridi swung it around before, as has been typical in this series, throwing it away, Hafeez fell yet again after getting a start, Umar Akmal and Abdul Razzaq tried hard but South Africa kept up the pressure and prevailed. Pakistan are yet to beat South Africa in a bilateral ODI series. Stay tuned, as we'll soon get you the details from the presentation ceremony.

Saahir: "Blast..I am getting tired of these close encounters..either SA is woefully inept in closing out Pak or it is Pak who is making mess of chasing targets. Whatever it is I am going to sleep, too much hyper-ventilation for one week." Except that it didn't get so close this time.

The PCB chairman Ijaz Butt is part of the presentation panel.

Hashim Amla is Man of the Series.

Jacques Kallis is Man of the Match: "I struggled a bit in the beginning with a back injury. It's nice to win an important game here. Our all-round performance was a lot better today. Having 317 on the board helped, everyone chipped in. We've come a long way from where we were a few months ago. As long as we keep improving, it augurs well for the World Cup. Amla has improved a lot, JP and Botha set up a fantastic total and the bowling is coming along nicely as well."

Shahid Afridi: "I am disappointed. We haven't won a series in 1.5 to 2 years. We didn't bowl well in the last Powerplay. The openers played positively but we had expectations from Younis and Yousuf. Before the World Cup we hope to get our team in good shape."

Graeme Smith: "It was a good performance from the guys. It was nice to bowl and field well and had we done that in the previous games we could have won four or five games. We wanted to pick the allrounder Peterson today and he bowled really well. The ODI squad, a lot of young players and we've taken some big steps forward in the last couple of weeks."

That's all we have from here, folks. Join us for the Test series that begins on November 12. Sahil Dutta is on the bulletin for this game and he should be done with it shortly. Until the next time, it's goodbye from all of us at Cricinfo.
