South Africa Under-19 thumped Zimbabwe Under-19 in both their Twenty20 games on Monday, the first by a margin of 43 runs. South Africa put in a dominating display with the bat, with openers Keaton Jennings and James Price smashing 147 in 87 balls together. Captain Jennings contributed 82, while Price struck four sixes and seven fours in his 81. The middle order stepped it up in the late overs to take South Africa to 209, which they were able to defend with ease. Price was also in form with the ball, grabbing three wickets to ensure Zimbabwe had no chance in their chase. They did manage 166, however, thanks to an unbeaten 46-run stand for the ninth wicket when all hope was lost.
Price again was in the thick of things in the second Twenty20, blitzing 98 off 58 balls, including seven fours and three sixes, to make short work of a target of 165 set by the hosts. Jennings again supported Price in an opening stand of 63, and David Bunn played a steady hand while his partner attacked to secure the chase with 11 balls to spare. For Zimbabwe, opener Gary Chirimuta top scored with 38 and there was some acceleration down the order by Nathan Waller (33 not out off 29) and Kevin Hook (22 not out off 10), but that proved woefully inadequate against a clinical batting effort by South Africa.
