New Zealand swept aside Netherlands in a practice game ahead of the ICC World Twenty20 that signalled the end of their training camp at Wormsley. The Netherlands were dismissed for 104 in the final over of the match in reply to New Zealand's 194 for 8.
Brendon McCullum, who took five fours and a six from Dirk Nannes' opening two overs, top scored with 62 to set up the strong total. Neil Broom (28), Scott Styris (26) and Jacob Oram (20) also chipped in before James Franklin and Daniel Vettori picked up three wickets each to ensure the victory.
"We've left Wormsley on a high with plenty of good performances with both bat and ball," New Zealand's coach Andy Moles said. "All our batsmen have got among the runs, we've been bowling well and there's been a real intensity in the field. I'm confident we're moving in the right direction, but we all know we're coming into the hard part now."
New Zealand, who have had four practice games already, face India on Monday and Australia on Tuesday. Their World Twenty20 campaign begins against Scotland at The Oval on Saturday.
