Well played Australia. Mitchell Johnson hauled them from a poor total to a defendable 249 with some late heroics with the bat, and then they hauled the game back into their hands after England had reached 74 for 0.

England's failure to claim the final Powerplay until the game was as good as over will come under some considerable scrutiny, but in truth they screwed up their chase long before that. Strauss was too busy plane-watching to carry on a fine innings, Owais Shah proved once again he is lousy between the wickets, and Brett Lee showed what is possible with a fast, full and late-swinging length.

So there we have it. We mustn't forget another good batting performance from Callum Ferguson, who looks a quality find in the middle order. Australia are worthy winners. I've been Andrew Miller, and he's been Will Luke. Goodnight all

and that is the end of that. Fast, full, unstoppable. Paul Collingwood's valiant innings comes to an end via the thinnest of toe-ends onto leg stump, and Australia are 2-0 up!

outside off, Anderson wafts flat-footedly, and another dot ball is chalked up. Yes, it was a carbon copy

I still blame the Lancaster Bomber

1
Watson to PD Collingwood, 1 run

slower ball, clopped to midwicket, and England are wading through treacle now

2
Watson to PD Collingwood, 2 runs

cue the circus music. An optimistic tonk down the ground, a fumble, a crazy call, a dive, a reprieve. And an extra run

England need a bit of James Foster magic right now

45.2
Watson to PD Collingwood, no run

another swipe, but straight to midwicket

45.1
Watson to PD Collingwood, no run

an ambitious swipe across the line, but Collingwood wears it in the nether regions. Loud oohs and titters as the replay shows where it struck

Well, England have made a gastronomic delight of this run-chase. Michelin stars all round

44.6
Lee to Anderson, no run

back onto the stumps to loud and ironic cheers.

Three runs in five Powerplay balls so far ...

44.5
Lee to Anderson, no run

round the wicket, and Anderson flinches outside off.

Anderson takes strike, with the ball doing handstands

44.4
1
Lee to PD Collingwood, 1 run

full and fast again, tailing into leg stump, and chopped up to mid-on

44.3
2
Lee to PD Collingwood, 2 runs

now that is a good nut at this stage, at any stage! 92mph inswinging yorker, and Collingwood squeezes two to fine leg

44.2
Lee to PD Collingwood, no run

bouncer, and a good one. Collingwood flaps ambitiously but comes closer to wearing it on the helmet than finding the middle of the bat

44.1
Lee to PD Collingwood, no run

nothing on offer there, too fast and straight

So, there it is, the final Powerplay has been taken. Long handle please!

43.6
Bracken to Anderson, no run

squeezed down into the crease to end the over. And now what can Paul Collingwood conjure from the finish?

So, still no Powerplay, and only one man, James Anderson, to come. What on earth is going orf out there?

Bracken to Sidebottom, OUT

full and angling in, Sidebottom is beaten all ends up, and now Australia are circling for the kill

Ryan Sidebottom b Bracken 0 (2b 0x4 0x6 1m) SR: 0

Bracken to Sidebottom, no run

outside off, a loose dab, but no contact

Here's Ryan Sidebottom, who couldn't quite win it on Friday. What can he do this time?

43.3
W
Bracken to Swann, OUT

dirty stroke, and that's a waste I'm afraid. Full and straight, a slower ball, and Swann's stumps are splattered as he tries a slog sweep

Graeme Swann b Bracken 14 (22b 0x4 0x6 25m) SR: 63.63

A decent holding innings from Swann, but he gave it away too soon I reckon

43.2

Bracken to Swann, 4 byes

yikes, that was close! A loose flash, Swann all but loses his leg stump, but Paine is suckered. Four vital runs

a dot to finish the over. We have a game on here
