64.1 what a ball! An absolute gem from Powell which knocks Strauss off his feet and splays his stumps. As good a yorker as you will see, swinging late on Strauss and he was way too late on it 229/1
69.1 he's gone this time! Another hook shot and again he miscues it, the ball ballooning to Hinds' right at midwicket who took a superb catch diving to his right 241/2
78.5 got him! Again Shah tried to cut this ball which turned and bounced on him, and the ball flew into the chest of Smith at first slip - easy catch 259/3
94.4 full length, on the stumps, Pietersen attempts to whisk through the leg side again and that looks utterly plumb on first viewing! Umpire Tiffin agrees, Pietersen does not, and so it goes to a referral. But that is so out it's almost come in again through the other side! 318/4
128.6 oh dear oh dear oh dear! What a way to end a superb innings. Collingwood went for the glory shot, sliced his drive, and Nash at deep point steadied himself well to pouch the breakthrough catch 467/5
150.3 got him at last! Edwards has his man, dropping it short and Bopara went on the pull, skying it straight down fine-leg's throat 580/6

33.2 a decent stride, rapped on the front pad, a big appeal and the finger goes up! It looked pretty unremarkable on first evidence, and sure enough it goes to a referral. But there's nothing there that can reprieve Smith, the ball struck him just inside the line, and the ball would have gone on to clip the off stump. He's on his way, and England have their breakthrough! 121/2
4.5 huge shout, and that was a massive inducker that Gayle didn't read at all ... Umpire Tiffin says no, and it's probably a good shout. England ponder for a moment, and finally go for the referral. The replay shows it pitches just inside the line and is heading for leg stump ... Tiffin reverses his decision, and off Gayle goes! 13/1

165.1 Sidebottom has an actual wicket! A superb delivery swinging back late into Sarwan whose off stump is pegged back, and there goes Sarwan's chance of a 300 595/6

47.4 beaten for pace I think as Hinds comes forward, trying to defend, but is rapped in front. And up goes the finger! He ponders whether to refer it before trudging off disconsolately and replays indicate that would just have clipped the leg stump 159/3
84.5 Anderson's got him! The inswinger darts back into Chanderpaul who shoulders arms, and up goes the finger. As you'd expect, it's been referred by Chanderpaul and the problem now is height. Now, the third umpire doesn't have the benefit of predictive hawkeye so they can't tell whether it would've gone over the stumps, but they don't even need hawkeye. It is that obvious. Up goes the finger for a second time. Well, for all England's celebrations, that decision really does sum up the sham of a system that this referral experiment is 281/4

95.2 that's close - he's rapped him on the pads and up goes the appeal. Oh lord. Here we go again - Strauss has called for a referral. Now the umpire turned that down. So, can Daryl Harper be 100% certain the ball is going to hit the stumps? Perhaps a little high, so it won't be a surprise if it's given not-out. I don't know why it's taking so long - it seems perfectly straightforward: there is enough doubt to vindicate the original not-out decision. We're coming up to two minutes of wasted time, and - well, I am flabbergasted. He has been given out. Again, it was fairly clear the ball was going over the top yet Harper has told the onfield umpire to change his decision. I'm afraid I'm speechless 334/5

180.3 it'll be a fifty and no more! A superb arm-ball from Swann, Taylor went back when he should have been forward, and that pings the bails. Well bowled Graeme, he's on for another five-for 672/7
185.3 that was quick and Benn tried to pull it, but got a thin edge through to the keeper 701/8
