Australia complete the whitewash and they'll be a much relieved bunch after a forgettable series in India. They took a bit of time to adjust back to home conditions and they've certainly clicked in all departments here in Adelaide. Except for Hayden and Symonds, the rest have contributed well with the bat. Lee may not have finished with his best innings figures but he still managed five wickets and he'll be delighted with that. The Australians have an extended break before the first Test at Perth against South Africa on the 17th.

And now the stat you've all been waiting for. Brett Lee is the only bowler to have taken more than 300 Test wickets without taking six or more wickets in an innings. Thanks Siddhartha Talya, for verifying that for me.

We're ready for the presentation.

Brad Haddin is the Man of the Match. "Very satisfying, we're just looking forward to the South Africa series. Clarke just decides not to talk during the partnership (laughs)."

Michael Clarke is the Man of the Series "Fantastic performance from the Australians. I'll take a 100 any day. Always great to come back and bat here at the Oval. Haddin was fantastic and he deserves the reward. He's the type of player who will win a lot of games for Australia."

Here's Vettori: "Disappointing all the way through. Australia put the game away from us a long long way yesterday. Australia won every critical moment through the Tests and we failed to do that. We have to get back to winning ways soon."

Ponting: "I enjoyed that catch (to get rid of How). I said to the guys after Brisbane there was a fair bit of room for improvement. Like Clarke said Haddin has a rosy future. We've got a great challenge ahead against South Africa. Lee kept wanting the ball and he ran in and picked nine."

Ponting gets hold of the series trophy and his team-mates join him. Don't forget New Zealand return in February for a series of five ODIs and a Twenty20. The first match is a day-nighter at the WACA on February 1.

So NZ have plenty to ponder after this heavy defeat. Sadly, John Bracewell leaves his post in disappointment and he would have hoped for much better farewell. We wish him all the best for his future. Andy Moles takes over as coach.

NZ have to get their batting in order. They were also missing their best player Jacob Oram to injury. I've said this before and will say it again - they will have to beg Scott Styris to come out of Test retirement. They've already lost a few players to the ICL and can't afford any more losses.

That's it from us. I enjoyed bringing the two Tests to you. Thanks for the mails. On behalf of my team, Raghav, Peter English and Brydon Coverdale, this is Kanishkaa Balachandran signing off. Cheers!

W
Johnson to Martin, OUT

Johnson adds the finishing touches and Australia win by an innings and 62 runs and take the series 2-0, he delivers from round the wicket and fires it on the offstump, Martin's beaten for pace and the ball crashes on to the top of the offstump, it's also Martin's sixth pair in Tests and McCullum's stranded on 84

Lee to McCullum, SIX runs

now he goes the other way! Lee bangs it slightly short outside off, he makes room and carves it just over the boundary at sweeper cover, a spectator takes the catch

Lee to McCullum, SIX runs

bang! Lee thuds it in short, McCullum backs away just a touch, gets on top of the bounce and pulls it a few rows back over deep square leg

Lee to McCullum, (no ball) FOUR runs

what a shot! he overpitches on the off stump and McCullum makes a bit of room and clubs it on the front foot to long-off one bounce and four

73.2
Lee to McCullum, no run

the slower bouncer, McCullum doesn't read it early and he tries to slap it awkwardly down to point

1
Hauritz to McCullum, 1 run

this is hilarious, McCullum reverse sweeps and the ball appears to head to the boundary, McCullum is happy with the single but Stuart Clark wants that to go for four and have Martin on strike, the ball doesn't listen to him and stops short before the rope, smiles around

72.5
Hauritz to McCullum, no run

thinks of chasing a wide one but opts out of the shot

Lee to Martin, no run

very nearly! Lee gets it to bend back in and Martin gets a thick edge past his stumps

Chris Martin walks in, he's on a sixth pair in Tests

Lee to O'Brien, OUT

that's a five-for and the wait finally ends for Lee, pitches it on the offstump and gets it to swing back in, O'Brien gets his bat very close to his pads and Doctrove doesn't ponder over that for too long, that would have crashed in to the middle stump

Iain O'Brien lbw b Lee 0 (38b 0x4 0x6 54m) SR: 0
71.4
Lee to O'Brien, no run

138.8 kph, it seemed much quicker than that, O'Brien has to sway away from a well directed bouncer

71.3
1
Lee to McCullum, 1 run

angles it on the pads and he tucks it wide of midwicket to bring up the 50 stand, who would have thought....

71.2
Lee to McCullum, no run

ouch! He really digs it in short and McCullum takes his eyes off the ball and fends it off his gloves, he's in a bit of pain

71.1
Lee to McCullum, no run

bangs in the bouncer and he allows that to sail over is head

These two have added 49 and O'Brien has hung on without scoring
