22.4 nudged through midwicket for another easy single. Hang on - they're appealing for something, and he's gone! Strauss has stepped on his stumps! Well, well, what a breakthrough for South Africa 68/1
40.6 gone now! Nel strikes with his third victim of the day, an outside edge from Cook who loses the battle with Nel in the end as he's squared up and Kallis takes a good, diving catch to his left at second slip 136/4
22.5 and he's gone first ball! A good one from Nel that held its line, and Vaughan came forward trying to defend, but it didn't look like he touched it. Up went a huge appeal from Nel, and a belated one from the rest of the South Africans, and up too went the finger 68/2
25.5 a huge appeal and he's out! Pietersen's gone! A quicker, fuller ball which Pietersen tried to flick to leg and got the thinnest of leading edges which flew to Prince at point. Pietersen wasn't sure if it was lbw or caught, and though it didn't look as though he got an edge, the lbw was close 74/3
54.5 a feather of an edge and Bell goes now! The change (of ends and of bowler) has worked, as he slides the ball in from wide and Bell's tickle, pushing forward, goes through 173/6
51.1 oh, a thick edge and Collingwood goes! He was looking to turn that one to midwicket, and the ball takes a thick snick and it's snapped by the bucket hands at first slip 158/5

73.6 Kallis has gone right through the defences now, Ambrose squaring behind it and as the ball is planted on a good length, he drives a fat edge back on to the stumps which rattle sickeningly 212/7
74.6 Ntini strikes now! Sidebottom didn't hang around long, the swing taking the ball away and the edge carrying on to Boucher behind the stumps 215/8

76.6 on the legs, squeezed down to deep backward square leg and that's really inexcusable - two run-outs in two balls, Paensar not getting back as the throw comes in and Boucher takes the bails off, Panesar failing to ground his bat as he tried to keep Flintoff on strike for the next over 231/10

38.6 got him now, though! Flintoff fired that one right up there, full and straight, coming back in from the seam, hardly getting up and there was little doubt about that one 135/4
7.2 got him! Flintoff is straight into the action, Smith pushing at it and taking an outside edge through to Strauss at first slip who just to say held it low 17/1
27.3 Harris's splendid resistance comes to an end at last, trying to drive this on the up but he can only edge it straight to Alastair Cook at third slip. A knackered-looking England barely celebrate, but their relief is tangible 94/2
35.1 a big shout on middle and he's given it, the actual decision for the inside edge on to the pad as Amla, looking to turn it on to the on side, pops it forward and well caught by Anderson, superb stuff, running round, diving forward and stretching out his left under it 117/3
68.4 he's BOWLED HIM! What a ball from Flintoff and what an over, fired in at off stump and Kallis is beaten for pace and outswing, his off stump knocked back several metres 226/5
77.6 gone! what a huge wicket, full and wide of off stump and draws Prince into a rare loose drive, a thin edge flies through comfortably to Ambrose who swallows it. A vital blow by Sidebottom, Prince was very capable of marshalling the lower order 264/7
72.4 got him, Flintoff's on fire here! An 88.4mph bouncer which lures de Villiers into a hook, but he top-edges a skier above Sidebottom at fine-leg. Steadying himself, he takes it comfortably and England are right back in this match 238/6
90.2 what a catch by Vaughan! Boucher went inside out and Vaughan, sprinting in from extra cover, dived to take a quite brilliant (and surprising) catch. Pleasingly, both his knees appear to be still intact too 314/10
86.6 got him! The bouncer from Anderson is followed by the dummy delivery, full and straight and Morkel's trapped in front 293/8
87.6 got him this time. A repeat of the previous ball but it was a touch fuller and Nel, tried to turn him to leg, but his middle and leg stumps are splayed with pleasing symmetry. That was a bit out 298/9

22.1 but South Africa have struck now! Strauss on his way after pushing forward at a good, straight ball, the edge flicking off hard to second slip 70/3
5.2 gone! what a brilliant catch, but an awful shot from Cook...dropped in short again and Cook goes for the pull, defeated by the angle and it causes him to get a massive top edge. Boucher called early and makes a huge amount of ground, taking the catch almost at square leg. Massive strike for South Africa, England still a way behind 15/1
10.6 got him! A screamer of a catch by Amla at extra cover, Vaughan reaching out away from the body to drive a ball which wasn't quite as pitched up as thought and he squirts a low one at the fielder who dives low to his left for a terrific take 39/2
53.1 Harris has got him! Pietersen's gone! Skipping down the pitch and going for the glory shot over the top, but he picks out long-on, and he swears black and blue while trudging back to the pavilion. He is absolutely apoplectic with rage - and understandably so. He might just have thrown the game away for England 219/5
30.1 over the wicket, short ball outside off, and that's a horrible, awful miscue from Bell, sending a top edge from a would-be hook, his head right up in the air, and Boucher runs round to take the catch 104/4
98.2 outside off, Collingwood cuts it low to Boucher and there ends England's innings and a fine hundred from Paul Collingwood 363/10
53.5 gone! Harris has two huge wickets. Flintoff lunges forward and tries to defend but can only inside-edge it to short-leg 221/6
80.2 timber! what a start for Morkel, the ball pitches on off and middle and moves away just a touch, Ambrose plays down the wrong line and the ball clips the top of offstump 297/7
96.5 what a comeback by Morkel! He bangs it in short, directs it at the ribcage and Sidebottom is forced onto the pull, he swings but fails to control the shot as the ball lobs off his gloves and Amla at short leg takes an easy catch 362/8
97.6 bowled him! A poor shot from Anderson; a poor innings in fact. He went back, tried to cut but it was much too close and he inside-edged it onto his stumps 363/9

17.3 complete misjudgment from McKenzie! Flintoff fires in a yorker, McKenzie somehow fails to pick it and doesn't offer a shot, the ball swings in in the air and hits the boot, umpire Steve Davis gives him out. Hawkeye reckons that would have clipped the offstump. If you don't offer a stroke you're generally in big trouble. This reminds me of Chris Read getting out to Cairns at Lord's in 1999 65/1
22.6 Monty was absolutely certain about this and so was Aleem Dar! He bowls the arm ball on middle stump line, Amla misreads it and goes on the backfoot, the ball skids through, replays showed that the ball may have just sailed over the stumps, that looked a little wrong to the naked eye but England will take it 78/2
25.5 another batsman fails to sight the ball properly! This is very dramatic stuff, folks. Flintoff dishes out a full toss and the ball comes into Kallis, he decides to leave the ball but is struck flush on the left thigh in front of middle stump, umpire Steve Davis gives him out. Kallis is absolutely fuming, Mickey Arthur too vents his frustration at the pavilion. There has to be some issue with the sightscreen here 83/3
29.2 the top order's coming apart here and Smith can only watch, Anderson angles it across the left hander, Prince prods forwards half heartedly and gets a thin edge to Ambrose, unlike the three early wickets this was certain, no doubt whatsoever 93/4
52.4 now has the tide turned yet? Panesar pitches it outside off and gets it to turn, de Villiers follows it and fails to get behind the line and gets an edge to Collingwood at first slip 171/5
