We hope you've enjoyed the commentary over the past five days. We'll be back for the second Test on Sunday morning at 10am (4.30am GMT) - and England have it all to do. From me, Will Luke, and my two fine colleagues Martin Williamson and Jenny Thompson, it's goodnight and we'll see you on Sunday.

Sanath Jayasuriya, as befits such a humble sort of chap, jogs off without much fanfair but is given a rousing ovation and pats on the back from his team-mates. A fine career comes to an end, and a decent way in which to send him off with a solid 88-run win. Kumar Sangakkara is named Man of the Match for his fine double of 92 and 152, while there are plenty more presentations for Murali.

Sri Lanka win by 88 runs, and what a final day it has been. Two fine knocks from Ian Bell and Matt Prior gave England a genuine chance of salvaging a draw. Even as far as tea, the pair were playing with greater freedom and confidence...before that man Murali struck, bowling both of them in quick succession. Once they fell, the tail didn't have a hope.

Malinga to Hoggard, OUT

bowled him! That's it, it's all over - a cracking yorker which speared into Hoggard's middle stump, and he couldn't get down on it quick enough

Malinga to Hoggard, FOUR runs

four! A thick outside edge, though I reckon he played that with soft hands down to third man

93.4
Malinga to Hoggard, no run

poor line down the leg side which wobbles off the pads

I hope you're still with us, oh England fans. It's not all over yet. Never mind working...just stick with us

93.3
Malinga to Hoggard, no run

ooh he plays and misses outside off this time! This is nail-biting stuff

93.2
Malinga to Hoggard, no run

bowled and played! Great cricket. A fantastic yorker which spears into the off stump and Hoggard digs it out

"Nine an over!" shrieks Dan Brigham, not hopeful but expectant of victory.

Malinga to Panesar, 1 run

neat stroke from Monty, prodding it out to deep extra

10 overs to go for England to survive. Or about 25 minutes we reckon. Malinga's back

padded away

Superb, if hopeful, appealing

92.3
Murali to Hoggard, no run

rapped on the pads, Murali demands it's out; the ball flies to short-leg who demands it's out. Neither is given

92.2
Murali to Hoggard, no run

wide of the off stump, stroked back down the pitch

92.1
Murali to Hoggard, no run

Hoggard's forward, padding it away to one of Murali's minions on the leg side

Cook comes out as runner for Hoggard. There are about seventy people around the bat for Hoggard here

Vaas to Panesar, no run

well played Monty, pushing this back to the bowler. He really is the new Laxman, if not the latest Lehmann

91.5
Vaas to Panesar, no run

spearing into his off stump, Monty pulls out a beautiful defensive

91.4
Vaas to Panesar, no run

angling down leg, a huge appeal for lbw but it's miles down leg

91.3
Vaas to Panesar, no run

an extravagant leave from Monty - almost appeared as though he was going cut

A left-handed Laxman, some say
