17.2 and Harris hits back, and how! Harris tossed it up nicely outside off stump, Gayle came forward once again and drove, this time he had to reach out for it a little bit more and got a thick edge to Kallis at first slip, two massive wickets within the space of three balls 102/2
16.6 South Africa have the breakthrough! Ganga had done an excellent job of leaving the wide ones alone, until now that is. He drove loosely away from his body at one that wasn't full enough to drive and got a thick edge through to Boucher who took an easy catch, relieved celebrations from the South Africans 98/1
41.3 caught! Morton gets on to the front foot a bit too early and tries to defend, the length is just a little bit short on off stump, the ball bounces a bit more and hits the outside edge high on the bat, it lobs up tamely to Prince at point who takes one of the easiest catches you can hope to get 166/3
80.5 that is a stunning catch from Kallis! Samuels sees one full and wide and went after it, the ball swung away from Samuels and got the thick outside edge of his expansive drive, the ball flew at rapid speed towards Kallis at second slip who took the catch over his head to the left and staggered backwards because of the momentum of the ball, and it wasn't a no ball this time, Steyn has his first wicket 277/4

133.1 he's bowled him! And against the run of play! Nel angles the ball into the left-hander from round the wicket, the ball pitches on a good length around off stump, Chanderpaul gets drawn forward and defends down the wrong line, the ball straightens just enough to beat the bat and clip the top of off stump, outstanding ball, very similar to the one with which Zaheer bowled Ponting in Melbourne yesterday 407/9
91.1 caught after a collision! Bravo tried to close the face of the bat to a good length ball that was angling into him from outside off stump, he was a bit early on the one-legged flick and the leading edge went high in the air on the off side, Ntini went for the catch and so did Gibbs from gully, in the end Ntini caught it and bumped into Gibbs, who fell down, soon after, it could have easily been spilled but all's well that ends well for South Africa 296/5
93.4 that's pretty unplayable and Ramdin gets an edge that's snapped up by Boucher, Ntini went wide of the crease once again and angled the ball into Ramdin, it pitched around off stump and straightened squaring Ramdin up, the ball kissed the outside edge of his back-foot defence and South Africa have their second wicket of the morning 304/6
115.1 Chanderpaul drops the ball with soft hands towards cover and calls for the quick single, de Villiers sprints in from cover, picks up the ball and throws down the stumps with a full length dive, he takes out the stumps with his body afterwards during his slide, it's a tight decision for the third umpire to make, Sammy's bat was just on the line but it's unclear whether the bail was off or not before the bat slid inside the crease, but Rudi Koertzen's hit the out button and Sammy has to go 361/7
125.4 and he's made me take that back! That's the delivery he's been looking for all day. It's a full, fast yorker which angles into Taylor before swinging away and uprooting the off stump, the stump goes for a walk and Steyn loves it 385/8

8.5 that's plumb! Taylor bowls a full ball but it's not quite a yorker, the ball swings into Smith who tries to close the face of his bat but misses, it hits him low on the front pad and umpire Tiffin raises his finger after a long hard look, that would have hit middle stump 45/2
0.5 caught! What a perfect delivery, Powell angles the ball into Gibbs and pitches it on a good length, Gibbs moves forward to defend but the ball seams away from the right-hander and takes a thick outside edge through to Ramdin who accepts an easy catch 1/1

13.1 he strikes first ball! Powell bowls a perfectly-pitched yorker, Amla moves forward and tries to close the face of the bat, he's early on the shot and doesn't make contact, the middle stump lies uprooted a few milliseconds later 63/4
10.5 splendid catch! Kallis begins to fend at one outside off stump but decides to pull his bat out of the way at the last minute, it's a little too late for that and the ball hits the face of the bat and flies towards Bravo's right at third slip, he dives full length to his right and take the catch with both hands, outstanding effort which gives West Indies a massive wicket 53/3
25.3 caught! Powell pitches the ball on a good length outside off stump, Prince plays away from his body and inside the line, the ball seams away from him off the pitch and the thick outside edge is comfortably taken by Morton at second slip 96/5
54.5 oh what a ball, he's castled him! de Villiers doesn't expect a delivery like that, as the ball pitches, straightens, and does enough to completely steamroll his off stump as he plays forward and misses all ends up 172/7
36.4 oh well caught, Powell! Boucher didn't face a lot this morning but decides to pull a short one, that hurries onto him, without much footwork and the resultant top-edge balloons wide of Ramdin and down towards fine leg, where Powell runs in from the ropes and dives forward to hold a very good catch, giving West Indies an early breakthrough 129/6
58.5 gone on the stroke of lunch! Harris gets back to a shortish delivery, in no real position to go for this shot however, and tries to force it off the back foot but ends up spooning a catch to Taylor, diving forward at mid-off 181/8
60.3 quick strike after lunch, as Nel shimmies across the stumps and clips a fullish ball from middle and off straight to Ganga at mid-on, who takes a simple catch 194/9
62.1 but not today! Steyn comes dancing down, Bravo sees him and pitches short, Steyn gets under it and gets a top-edge down to fine leg, Ramdin runs after it but its that man Powell who calls for it and takes another well-judged catch to bring out the end of South Africa's innings 195/10

7.1 Ntini strikes! He pitches the ball on a good length and seams it across the left-hander, Gayle sits on the back foot and fends at the ball without moving his feet, the outside edge is easily taken by Boucher and that is a massive wicket for South Africa 32/1
41.2 oh thats silly! Its a shorter one spinning away from off stump, Ganga gets back and runs it wide of Gibbs at point, there's a stutter but eventually he responds to Samuels' call and is caught half an inch short of his crease as a superb direct hit makes fatal contact! Thats some fielding from Gibbs, but not good on the part of the batsmen, who took a call on one of the best in the business 122/3
14.1 and he strikes first ball! Kallis pitches on a length on off stump and gets it to seam back in ever so slightly, catching Morton pushing half-cock forward from the crease, there's pad and then bat as they all go up in appeal and the umpire gives it in the bowler's favour ... looked pretty out from here, as Morton failed to get a firm stride in 57/2
42.5 played on! Steyn pitches short, Samuels goes for a pull and succeeds in only getting a thick bottom-edge back onto his off stump, cramped for room and hurried into the stroke 123/4
48.1 edged and gone! Steyn gets another in this spell, forcing Chanderpaul to feel for one slanted across him at a decent pace, away from the body, to give second slip catching practice 141/6
47.4 gone! Harris gets Bravo, looking to go over the top, clipping a full delivery to Gibbs at mid-on, who takes an easy catch over his head shortly before stumps 141/5
50.5 thats out! Steyn digs it in short and a surprised Ramdin can only fend it to Gibbs at gully, who gleefully accepts the easiest of offerings, that ball simply gained on Ramdin's throat and he was in no position to get over and keep it down 144/8
49.4 another one bites the dust, as Harris traps Sammy in front of leg stump, after keeping it full and flat, it pitches full and straightens, Aleem Dar has no doubt about that one and raises the finger of fate in quick time 144/7
57.4 all over, as Taylor attempts another big hit, eying long-on but just getting his head in the wrong position and spooning a catch to Nel at deep mid-off, who just keeps his eyes on the ball under the glaring sun and accepts the swirling mis-hit to end the innings at 175 175/10
55.5 bowled! Harris tosses up invitingly outside off stump, Powell thinks its there to be hit hard and kneels down to do so very hard towards square, but is all in a mess as he's cramped and ends up inside-edging back onto his off stump 160/9

2.4 nailed him! Powell gets the early breakthrough, pitching full outside off stump and a tentative Gibbs pads forward as the ball angles back in and cops it flush on the front leg in front of off stump, looking to leave, Powell lets out a war cry as the umpire wastes little time in adjudicating that one out, bagging Gibbs a pair 4/1
9.3 superb bowling, good reflexes! Edwards steams in and bowls another excellent change-up delivery, dug into Smith's body, getting him up in the air and unable to keep that snorter down, the ball rearing and kissing the handle of the bat, then bobbing up in the air and forward short leg dives full stretch onto the pitch and plucks a good catch in front of Smith 20/3
7.2 nicked! Edwards gets his first wicket of the match, pitching full marginally outside off stump and sucking Amla into a nothing drive, only to get a thin edge as the ball bounces a touch more than he expected, which Ramdin is all too happy to accept 17/2
49.5 well, well, well, a poor call ends his resistance! Edwards perseveres with the short-pitched ball down leg stump, Kallis goes for a pull, slightly cramped for room, the ball clips his shoulder and Ramdin takes the catch, they're all up in appeal and umpire Tiffin sends Kallis off with a clanger, as replays clearly show bat did not hit ball 157/5
18.4 edged and caught at first slip! Taylor gets Prince to play at one that holds it line outside off stump, with a touch extra bounce, and he gives Gayle catching practice very low to his left 45/4
63.4 gone! de Villiers tries to get on with matters, getting one leg up as he goes for an aggressive on-drive to a slower one but ends up gifting a simple catch to Samuels at mid-on 192/8
59.5 inside-edge! Boucher tries to pull a short one from outside-off but only drags it on to his off stump to spark celebrations in the West Indies camp 183/6
62.3 played on! Harris doesn't move his feet as he tries to get over a short-of-a-length deliver, gets undone by the extra bounce, and chops onto his off stump 190/7
73.4 party's over for Nel! Sammy gets a wicket, pitching full outside off stump, Nel pokes at it leaden-footed and gets a thin feather through to Ramdin and South Africa are nine down 259/9
