So, that's the end of a one-sided series, with England wrapping up proceedings emphatically on the final day at Chester-le-Street. Panesar's sixth five-wicket haul set up the win for England, who eased to their target, with seven wickets to spare. Chanderpaul was, of course, named West Indies' Man of the Series, and he is a very deserved Man of the Match, too. England's Man of the Series is Panesar - 23 wickets at 18 apiece, this series. Thanks for joining us. Until next time - which will be the Twenty20s in a week's time - it's goodbye.

finally cuts away through point and that wins the match, denying Vaughan the half-century, but judging by his broad beam, Vaughan will take the 3-0 series win and not worry too much. They walk off to a standing ovation, Vaughan holding his bat aloft. Applause, too, for Guyana's Shiv Chanderpaul

Hilarity. Gayle tries to Mankad Vaughan - I thought that had been outlawed? You've got to love a bit of amusement such as that. Vaughan gives him a half-amused, half-withering (and that's a tricky look to pull off) stare

"Ambassadorialising is a gerund, not a verb," says Mike Boggis, "so the word you would be looking for is 'diplomacy'." Splendid diplomacyising, then, Your Excellency. And a splendid surname, Mike. My childhood nickname was Boggis. With parents like mine...etc

Samuels's celebration, incidentally, would have pleased a banshee

Pietersen is furious with himself. Stomp, stompy, stompiest. Crikey. Gayle will not let him forget this, will he. The crowd still love KP, with a rousing reception

a soft dismissal - the one that went on with the arm and Pietersen plays late, popping a fairly awkward catch, low, to first slip
