Scorecard
Pakistan suffered their second successive loss of the Women's Asia Cup, going down to Sri Lanka by a seven-wicket margin at Jaipur. An allround effort from Shashikala Siriwardene - snapping up four wickets and following it up with 44 - was complemented by a half-century from Chamari Polgampola as Sri Lanka won with 40 balls to spare.
Sri Lanka's bowlers justified their captain's decision to field first, restricting Pakistan to 147 for 9. Siriwardene, the medium-pacer, turned in a fine spell of 4 for 34 in her ten overs to keep the pressure on Pakistan. Only Tasqueen Qadeer, the opener, and Sana Mir crossed 20 in a meek batting effort.
Sri Lanka carried out the run-chase without too many jitters and the 94-run second-wicket stand between Polgampola and Siriwardene all but sealed the issue. Both went about their task patiently - taking up 116 and 84 deliveries respectively - and fell just before the target was reached.
