Panesar finishes with 3 for 39, well bowled. "Montstrous," suggests wannabe-Sun-headline-writer Andrew Miller but he has a point, that was some way to finish: stumped Read, bowled Panesar.

Well, well, England well and truly blew Pakistan away there to wrap up the series 2-0 ahead of the final Test which starts at The Oval on the 17th. But today belongs to England and particularly their young bowlers, with three wickets for Panesar and 4 for 22 for Saj Mahmood, from eight overs. Glorious stuff.

Andrew Miller notes that that's England's first series victory since the Ashes last summer, and Pakistan's first defeat since their tour of Australia in 2004-05, six series ago. Perhaps Pakistan can restore some pride in Kennington next week, but before that, all the celebrating will be done by England. Thanks for joining myself and Will Luke over the past five days; this has been scintillating stuff and we hope for more next time.

Panesar to Inzamam-ul-Haq, OUT

and that’s it, England have won the series with that wicket. That was a sharp stumping by Read to dismiss Inzamam, who was out by some distance, there. Inzamam came charging down the pitch in a final act of defiance.

attempted yorker, a little too full, Kaneria spots it and digs it out - Inzamam will be on strike again

strays down leg this time, stops a touch on the pitch, Inzamam waits for it and rolls his wrists over that one, sending it square with a languid pull

46.4
Mahmood to Inzamam-ul-Haq, no run

a curious shot from Inzamam who goes for a big pull shot but the ball doesn’t get up as much as he’d thought and it flies below his under edge

46.3

forced on to the back foot. Hostile this from Mahmood, who’s scenting blood

beautiful shot; there’s no messing there from Inzamam who larrups a charging cover-drive straight to the boundary. Glorious

gone! Well, that didn’t take long. Gul prods forward and a huge edge just below the handle flies to Collingwood at third slip who snaffles a sharp chance. This game is England's for the taking
