2:58pm: Light being checked by the umpires with the light meter. It is not good and the light has been offered. Early tea has been taken due to bad light.

Tea day 4: Rest of India lead by 382 runs. Tiwary is striking the ball well and he is unbeaten on 80. Mumbai bowlers have toiled hard to pick up the 4 wickets.

3:03pm There is a slight drizzle at the moment and the covers are on. We will keep you updated.

3:20pm The news is not good, the covers are still on. We will get back to you as soon as we have more information.

Yash wants a declaration: "This drizzle won't stop, I think there won't be any more play, Sehwag should declare and try to knock Mumbai wickets tomorrow".

Arun has a good question: "Which team will be declared as winners if this match ends in a draw?" well the team which got the first innings lead will be declared the winner.

3:48pm: It is still raining and the covers are on. So the wait goes on. As you wait check out the bulletin of the match of day 4.

4:20pm: Rain continues to fall and It is unlikely there will be any more play today, first the rain has to stop and then the moping up operations should take place. 5:00pm is the time when we are expecting the match to be called off for the day.

Stumps day 4: There is lot of water on the outfield, play has been called off for the day. Rest of India are piling on the runs, they lead by 382 runs. It is possible that they might declare overnight. Thanks for being with us, we hope you have enjoyed the commentary, do join us again tomorrow at 9:15am, until then cheers and bye from me, Binoy George.

9:15am (day 5): Hello and welcome to the coverage of the final day's play of the Irani Cup. Overnight rain has delayed the start on day 5. The outfield is wet, the moping up operations are on at the moment. Sreesanth was fined for verbal tiff, check out the article. There is no official news as yet to the start of the match on day 5.

9:40am: The umpires will have an inspection of the ground at 10:00am. We are still waiting for some official news. The highlight of day 4 was the century from Mukund and a good knock from Vijay. Tiwary started very slowly and then he got stuck into the Mumbai bowlers and he is currently unbeaten on 80.

10:26am: The umpires were not happy with the ground conditions, they will have another inspection at 10:30am. There is no news about a declaration, so Rest of India will bat on.

10:45am: There will be another inspection at 11:00am. Few of the areas are still wet, so the wait continues. As you wait for the match to start, check out few cartoons on page 2.

11:00am: The sun is out and the umpires are inspecting the bowlers run up area. The ground staff are working at the bowlers run up area at one end. They are also working at short cover and midwicket areas too.

11:35am: The covers are off and the stumps are in place. The ground staff are still working at one end of the bowlers run up and few other areas. The umpires are out and having a good look. We might have some play soon.

11:45am: Sehwag walks onto the ground, wet patches near the boundary ropes, he now walks to the pitch and has a chat with the umpires, they now walk to the midwicket or extra cover region, which ever way you look at it. The players might have taken early lunch. Sehwag walks back to the dressing room and the umpires walk to their rooms. The wait continues. There is still no official news of a start.

11:57am: The umpires will have another inspection at 12:15pm.

12:45pm: Inspections galore, another inspection at 1:00pm. Enjoy reading page 2.

1:10pm: The news is that there is no news at the moment, not much activity happening at the moment on the ground. It is another cloudy day, another inspection at 2:00pm. A frustrating day for all the fans.

2:10pm: We have some news at last, the stumps have been knocked down and the match has been called off as the ground is not fit for play. Both the captains were with the umpires and they shook each others hands and umpires hands.

Rest of India wins the 2009-10 Irani Cup, on their first innings lead. List of winners of the previous years. Rest of India have been winners for the last 4 years.

Some of the highlights of the match being, Jadeja's knock of 77 in the first innings, Jaffer's 68 and Mukund's knock of 126, Vijay's 91 and Tiwary's 80 in the second innings. Good bowling from Munaf Patel, Agarkar and Sreesanth.

Jaffer: "We did well on the first day, we were in the game on the second day but on the third day we lost wickets quickly to put us on the back foot".

Sehwag: "It hurt how I played but I enjoyed the game, yes Jadeja played well and in the second innings, Vijay and Mukund put us on the right track."

Sehwag lifts the Irani Cup 2009-10 for the Rest of India team.

Thanks for being with us, we hope you have enjoyed the commentary, it has been a pleasure bringing it to you, until next time this is Binoy George signing off, cheers and bye from all of us here at Cricinfo.
