Scorecard
Shaun Marsh was the standout performer but a lack of support from his team-mates gained him two bats on the third day as Western Australia battled to stay in the game. South Australia enforced the follow-on after taking a 157-run lead on first innings and will be the ones pushing for victory on the final day of a rain-interrupted clash.
Marsh was the only Warrior to master the conditions and he brought up a calm 137, but didn't get much of a rest after being ninth out. When the visitors were dismissed for 295 he returned to add 13 as they reached 0 for 17 at stumps.
It was a day to forget for Western Australia's Test players, with Michael Hussey falling first ball and Marcus North bowled for an unconvincing 10. Hussey drove to Michael Klinger at cover off Aaron O'Brien, who also had North dropped on zero. Mitchell Johnson failed to make an impact in the innings, lasting three balls without scoring.
The cool, windy conditions helped O'Brien to career best figures of 4 for 74. Marsh lifted O'Brien for six to bring up his century and almost took his side past the follow-on figure, but fell to a hook shot and a diving catch by Peter George.
South Australia added 47 in the morning and Aiden Blizzard was 141 when they declared eight down. His debut century included five sixes and 14 fours in a commanding performance in only his second first-class match for the state. Johnson finished with 3 for 120 from 27 overs in a solid warm-up before the Sri Lanka ODIs and the Ashes.
