4.5 Kallis top-edges to short fine leg. He has to go. Shortish delivery on off, Kallis goes for the pull but the Gabba's extra bounce helped take the top edge which flew high in the air but Badree settled under it to pouch an easy take 35/1
5.3 beauty. Sensational bowling. Blizzard is playing for some turn but there is none to be had, slides one across Blizzard who tries to work to the leg side and the googly swerves away. Blizzard over balances and leaves his crease, Peirson collects the ball and does the rest. 36/2
16 taken this time. Full and wide outside off, Watson slashes the cut with amazing timing but hits it so well that it carries to the sweeper cover. Nice running catch. 133/3
18 gone this time! Shortish delivery on leg, Hussey goes for the pull but gets a leading edge which is taken by the keeper. End of another great innings 166/4
19.3 Russell may be out here. Full toss is heaved away to long-on who returns an excellent throw, on top of the stumps. Russell scampers back for the second but fails to make his ground 183/5

11.4 gone! The RRR has got to Peirson, lots of pressure mounting and Peirson perishes. Flat outside off, no spin again. the ball skids on and beats the bat of Peirson after an exotic heave. the keeper whips the bails off 88/2
9.1 picks out third man to absolute perfection. Short delivery outside off, skids on off the moist pitch. Simmons ramps it off the open face but straight down to McKay at third man. 72/1
18.4 lovely catch from Green. Lynn is not very happy but he should be. That was sensational. What an innings. Full on off and middle, Lynn lofts the drive to long-on, very high in the air but the fielder at long-on settled under it and takes it, but as he over balances, throws the ball back in and completes the catch. 182/4
14.4 ramped but straight to short fine leg who takes an excellent catch. Slower ball on off, Reardon gets down early after shuffling across but he cannot get enough bat on it and McKay takes a good diving catch 120/3

Match Notes

  • Lynn 75 off 32 powers Heat to their first win

Brisbane Heat were not completely reliant on Chris Lynn, but of course he was the star, marshalling a remarkable chase with 75 from 32 balls as the Sydney Thunder failed to defend 186 in driving - perhaps to the point of being hazardous - rain
