I'm out of it. Amazing chase. It just keeps getting tighter in the IPL. Just when you think Munaf's last over was as tense as it could get, Deccan go and take 22 off Mashrafe's last over. Then Irfan bowls a stellar last over for Punjab. And now this. I tell you this tournament is madness. Hats off to Kolkata. Didn't do well in the field, allowed 188 in the field, but then McCullum stepped up and launched an amazing attack. Hodge then stayed through and played unbelievably. Never looked fazed, played Murali watchfully, saw him off, picked runs off the other slow bowlers and then decimated Balaji. Chennai look depleted. Hard loss. Kolkata went down in the IPL but are making sure they take a few down with them. Chennai now face the frustrating prospect of having to rely on the outcome of their final league game against Punjab, and possibly net run-rate to see where they finish. The IPL is wide open.

Lets head to the post-match presentation. First up is Dhoni, who rues losing after posting a good total. He's livid but keeping it under wraps. Says what his bowlers did was produce "one of the worst bowling efforts" he has seen. Ouch. Expect changes against Punjab. Thats the least I've seen Dhoni speak.

Now comes a smiling McCullum. He's really pleased after a few weeks he wouldn't wish on his worst enemy. Feels his team should just go and enjoy this.

Brad Hodge gets the Man-of-the-Match award for his unbeaten innings.

Thats it from us. Thanks for tuning in. Hope you enjoyed it. See you tomorrow. Bye for now!

1
Raina to Saha, 1 run

thats it, an incredible win for Kolkata, and one richly deserved after the season they've had! Raina keeps it wide, Saha chases and loosely chips it over the covers but its all safe because there is no one out there and Kolkata win by seven wickets

Mid-off up ... mid-on up ... Saha to face ... just one man in the deep for the slog sweep

19.5
2
Raina to Saha, 2 runs

short on the stumps, biffed down to long-on, they really hustle, Oram runs around and throws it back and the scores are tied

19.4
1
Raina to Hodge, 1 run

run out chance missed! Raina keeps it a tad short, Hodge hits it to extra cover and absolutely bolts out of the stables, Dhoni runs in and fields and throws the ball to Raina who isn't behind the stumps but anyways Hodge looked inside

19.3
1
Raina to Saha, 1 run

flatter, wider, Saha reaches out and slogs right to midwicket

19.2
1
Raina to Hodge, 1 run

slower ball again, on a length, Hodge slogs from his crease and gets an inside edge wide of short fine leg down to the sweeper for a single

19.1
Raina to Hodge, no run

slow and flat down leg stump, Hodge slogs and misses, the ball runs off his pads, Saha and Hodge set off, a good throw comes in but Hodge turns and dives in time

Raina will bowl the final over. Kolkata need six from six balls.

Lakshmipathy Balaji 3-0-40-0
Albie Morkel 3-0-39-0

Abysmal bowling from Balaji. Slower balls attempted, full tosses produced. Hodge hasn't batted an eyelid. Saha has been cool. Dhoni doesn't look pleased. What a chase.

18.6
4
Balaji to Saha, FOUR runs

this absolutely rubbish over has sealed it! Balaji again gives up a loopy, juicy slow full toss and Saha says thank you very much, slogging it over midwicket for four

18.5
1
Balaji to Hodge, 1 run

nearly a yorker finally, but Hodge makes room and bunts the ball down to long-on, Bailey collects and throws it back, Saha wanted one more but Hodge says nope

18.4
6
Balaji to Hodge, SIX runs

What. A. Player. I'm serious, this is the ice man cometh! Balaji slots it in the zone and Hodge goes straight, and very straight, into the sightscreen for six more

18.3
1
Balaji to Saha, 1 run

another stray ball down the pads, basically the attempted yorker gone wrong, Saha only gets one with his big swing because its an inside edge out to deep midwicket

18.2
1
Balaji to Hodge, 1 run

full toss on the pads, swung out to Dhoni at deep square leg on the bounce, should have gone for six but

18.1
6
Balaji to Hodge, SIX runs

super, super, super dooper and what nerves! Balaji hits a length, Hodge doesn't flinch, clears the front leg again and drills that over long-off for maximum

Whew. Two overs left. Twenty-five needed. Chennai need wickets. What fun. I'm zapped. Balaji to bowl.

Massive over again for Kolkata. Hodge has to stay on.

17.6
1
Morkel to Hodge, 1 run

strives for the yorker, too full and Hodge drives it to long-off

17.5
4
Morkel to Hodge, FOUR runs

he's doing it! Albie strays down the leg stump and Hodge swings it over deep backward square leg, great placement because there is no one out there

17.4
4
Morkel to Hodge, FOUR runs

best part of the ground and thats Hodge's half-century! Clears the front leg and hammers the length ball back over Albie's head, no stopping that one

17.3
1
Morkel to Saha, 1 run

full on middle and off, now Saha goes hard down to Bailey at long-off

Kolkata need boundaries ....

17.2
1
Morkel to Hodge, 1 run

fuller ball, Hodge clears the front leg and drills it down to long-off

17.1
2
Morkel to Hodge, 2 runs

length ball, slogged over midwicket, lands safely, Oram runs across from long-on, slides, fumbles, and keeps them to two

They need 38 from 18 balls. Albie returns. He was all over the place at the start.

2
Balaji to Saha, 2 runs

bad ball, very full and wide outside leg stump, it brushes the thinnest part of the bat and Patel does well to dive and get a hand on it to save it from finding the ropes, but the batsmen steal one more for the fumble

16.5
1
Balaji to Hodge, 1 run

full outside off stump and he drives past extra cover out to Raina
