Daredevils vs MI, 36th match at Delhi, IPL, Apr 27 2012 - Ball by Ball Commentary
11.35 pm Delhi had smashed Mumbai away, and now they've smashed them at home. A 38-run victory is a huge win. Very little went right for Mumbai after they won the toss and chose to bat. Sehwag, Mahela and KP scored fifties to take Delhi past 200, and when Mumbai lost three wickets for a song, the game was all but done. Rayudu and Karthik revived the chase for a while, but Nadeem's double strike, dismissing Rayudu and Pollard in consecutive balls, finished the game.
The difference between the top team and the second team in the IPL is more two points for the first time this season. Delhi have opened up a lead of three points over Kolkata, Chennai and Bangalore, who all have nine points each. And all those teams have played eight games each.
Harbhajan: "We didn't get the result we were looking for. Delhi played fantastic, they batted too well. Credit goes to Delhi, they outplayed us." No kidding. Harbhajan says there was a risk in asking Delhi to bat but he says they like chasing so Mumbai took that chance.
Sehwag: "We discussed in the team meetings tht one of me and Mahela has to stay until the 15th over, today both of us did and we had a very good partnership." Sehwag has praise for the crowd for supporting Delhi, and Tendulkar. Sehwag is also the Man of the Match.
On that note, I'll say good night. Than you for your emails once again. We'll be back tomorrow for the double header. Cheers.
the ball cuts into the right-hander and beats the bat, Naman dives to his left and makes the save
another full toss, hit towards long off
this has been caught but it's been called a no-ball for some reason. Was it for height? It wasn't above waist, that's for sure. The umpires check with the third umpire and the right decision has been made. It wasn't too high. Harbhajan had sliced the full toss towards point where Irfan judged the catch well
KP's dropped the catch at deep cover. Malinga slapped a full toss flat towards Pietersen, who came running in and then dropped it
Malinga backs away to try and hit a full ball from outside off stump through point, he gets beaten
he's slammed this, salvaging what he can for the net run rate. Harbhajan made room and hit the length ball flat over the extra cover boundary, or was it just short? It was just short
full again, Malinga backs away and hits it to long on
Harbhajan times the straight hit well but long-off is there to prevent the boundary, Morkel's keeping it full and straight
played towards deep point
in the blockhole once again, Malnga can only keep it out
in the blockhole on off stump, Harbhajan drives it to cover
not this time, though, Malinga moves towards leg and slaps the ball over extra cover for four
Malinga backs away and throws his bat at a full ball outside off, he gets beaten
driven past the bowler towards long on
full ball outside off, Harbhajan swings hard and bottom edges the ball into the ground and over the keeper's head for four

Harbhajan throws his bat at a wide ball, but it is too far away to make contact
nearly in the blockhole, Harbhajan backs away and hits to long on
For those of you who are wondering where Varun Aaron is for Delhi, he had a stress fracture of the back but is better now. Not sure he is match fit yet, but he's getting there.
