Pune equal the record for most consecutive defeats in IPL, their eighth in a row, and today's defeat was their worst margin in IPL.

Here's the latest points table.

Shane Watson: "Everybody performed today. We've got a well-balanced unit, we've got some firepower, Tait with his pace, Botha is a high-class spinner, Rahane is batting beautifully. We need to put another complete game against Deccan."

D Ramapriya: "Angelo Mathews at # 7? LOL"

Ben has some sympathy for Pune: "Poor PWI... they not being in the auction has affected their strength just too much..."

Raghavendra: "Poor mathews! Whatever the type of cricket he struck with the tailenders."

Matt: "RR has the best combination of 4 overseas player - Watson (Best all-rounder alongside Kallis), Hodge (Best T20 batsman atleast on domestic 20-20 circuit), Botha (One of the most cunning/smart T20 spinner) and Tait (One of the few genuine fast bowler)...I really hope they qualify for the knock outs !!!"

Jeff: "So with this defeat, PWI lose 8 in a row, matched only with KKR's 8 defeats in row back in South Africa in 2009. No need to point out the common factor or need I??" Murali Kartik? :)

Sumantrasarathi Datta notes: "The spinners made all the difference: PWI: 7-0-70-0

RR: 8-0-38-6."

Presentation ceremony:

Botha: Rahane has a great cricketing brain, and he was moving closer to me, that was probably the maximum I could have thrown.

Rahane: I was thinking about the possibility of the catch.

Ganguly: "It's hard to go down like this. I hope it is a learning experience for us. We've got some injuries, this is what is available, we have tried to pick the best possible team. I've never seen Chandila bowling before, he's a bit slower in the air. Wonderful result for him."

Dravid: "We are playing some good cricket and we are keeping our hopes alive. It is fantastic for me to see what the youngsters in the team have done." He says Chandila's nickname is 'doorknob'.

Chandila is the Man of the Match. "I was waiting for a chance for a long time. It was a crucial match for us, the pressure was on me. I called Narendra Hirwani for advice once I learnt I am going to play today, he gave me plenty of confidence, as did Dravid. This is just the start, there is still a way to go to complete my dream."

Watson to Sharma, OUT

out of the world fielding here! another slower on from Watson, pitched up and that is slammed towards Botha at long-off, Botha jumps towards the rope to collect that one, as Botha lands he realises he is going to go over the boundary, Botha looks to see that Rahane is there at long-off and he lobs the ball towards him, Rahane is at least 20 yards away but he has a simple catch to take, ridiculously good that, Rahan was grinning even before he took that catch

Rahul Sharma c Rahane b Watson 0 (3b 0x4 0x6 3m) SR: 0
17.5

Watson to Sharma, 1 leg bye

short of length ball and angling down leg, off the pads towards square leg

17.2
W
Watson to Angelo Mathews, OUT

another one gone, Watson slips in the back of the hand slower one, pitched up, Mathews wanted to hammer that over long-on, can only find Rahane at long-on, Pune lose their eighth, this game will be quite handy for Rajasthan's net run-rate

Angelo Mathews c Rahane b Watson 23 (19b 1x4 0x6 32m) SR: 121.05

Priyashrav jokes: "Why isn't Rahul Dravid bowling Ajinkya Rahane? He has the best T20 bowling average and economy rate in the Team!" Facts are right though
