Commentary

Well now, they just galloped home. Kallis began with a bang, settled down, and never looked back. Uthappa was sent in at No. 3 and took his time before opening his shoulders. Both have half-centuries in a 126-run partnership. Mumbai have been beaten soundly. Dillon du Preez set this up with two in two balls on IPL debut, added a third, and though Bravo and Nayar hit some quick runs to get Mumbai to 149, in the end we've seen an awesome chase. There were 11 balls to spare. After what seems like ages we have a one-sided chase. Teams have struggled to chase 150 or thereabouts but Kallis and Uthappa made it seem so simple. Bangalore are proving they are a side to watch out for and Vijay Mallya looks chuffed. Good on Bangalore.

Just a few moments till we get you the post-match stuff. Tough call for Man of the Match. du Preez, Kallis, Uthappa? I'm going for Kallis because of a tidy spell opening the attack, then how he took on Malinga for those two sixes, and most importantly how he stayed there to finish the job.

One thing is for sure, Anil Kumble will he a happy man after being appointed captain. Once they got rid of that Kevin Pietersen this side look so different.

Right. The Man of the Match is indeed Kallis.

The IPL is split wide open now. Getting very tight for the semi-finals. Bangalore have jumped to fourth. Mumbai have slipped from third to sixth today.

So thats ends my contribution for the evening. Thanks for your company. We have just one game tomorrow, between Deccan and Chennai at East London. Bye for now!

Malinga to Kallis, 1 run, and thats the end of that! Kallis just pushes the ball into the gap between cover and point to seal a fantastic win for Bangalore, their third on the trot
