Kamat, Abdulla dominate on day of batting records

Sagun Kamat became the first Goa player to score a triple-century as they amassed 606 for 6, their first 600-plus score, before declaring against Services in Cuttack. Kamat began the day on 177 and reached his double-century before lunch. He put on 109 for the third wicket with Snehal Kauthankar (45), 98 with Darshan Misal (45) for the fourth, and 96 unbeaten runs for the seventh with Shadab Jakati (57*) en route to his 304 not out. In reply, Services finished the day on 39 for the loss of Anshul Gupta for 4.

Kerala added 250 runs for the last five wickets to end the second day on 506 for 9 against Hyderabad in Bhubaneswar. Iqbal Abdulla recorded the highest individual score by a Kerala No. 8, hitting 14 fours and six sixes in his unbeaten 157.

Kerala began the day on 223 for 4, and lost overnight batsman Jalaj Saxena (79) in the 12th over of the day. Left-arm spinner Mehdi Hasan removed Robert Fernandez and Sachin Baby (80) to reduce Kerala to 312 for 7. Abdulla then combined with fellow left-arm spinner KS Monish (40) to put on 141 runs for the eighth wicket, and raised his second first-class hundred. Hasan was the most successful bowler, finishing the day with 3 for 134 in his 54 overs.

Joginder Sharma and Harshal Patel led Haryana's fightback against Chhattisgarh , but couldn't prevent them from taking an 11-run first-innings lead in Guwahati.

The day began with Chhattisgarh on 68 for 1, trailing Haryana by only 110. Harshal removed Ashutosh Singh in the first over of the day, and then trapped Mohammad Kaif in front to reduce Chhattisgarh to 80 for 3. Opener Sahil Gupta (78) and Abhimanyu Chauhan tried to stabilise the innings through a 52-run stand for the fourth wicket, before Yuzvendra Chahal broke through and opened the door for a collapse. Joginder took the next five wickets and Patel took the last, as Chhattisgarh lost their last six wickets for 29 runs to be bowled out for 189. Joginder finished with 5 for 32 - his 20th five-wicket haul - while Patel finished with 4 for 40.

Haryana were reduced to 35 for 3 in their second innings, with medium-pacer Pankaj Rao taking all three wickets. However, Himanshu Rana (50*) and Rohit Sharma (34*) put on 86 unbeaten runs for the fourth wicket. Haryana were 121 for 3 at stumps, and ended the day like they had started it - 110 ahead of Chhattisgarh.

Tripura piled on 549 against Himachal Pradesh, before taking an early wicket in Himachal's reply in Kalyani. Himachal Pradesh struck regularly in the first session - starting with the wicket of Smit Patel (111) in the second over - as they reduced Tripura to 379 for 6. However, captain Manisankar Murasingh (84) combined with Gurinder Singh (79), who scored his first fifty, to take Tripura past the 500-mark for only the second time in their Ranji history. Left-arm spinner Mayank Dagar took his first five-wicket haul, finishing with 5 for 138, and was Himachal's most successful bowler.

Himachal lost Prashant Chopra in the third over, before Ankush Bains (28*) and Nitin Gangta (12*) took them to 50 for 1 at stumps, trailing by 499 runs.

Bandeep Singh's eight half-century helped Jammu & Kashmir extend their overnight score of 205 for 6 to 334 against Andhra at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai.

J&K lost overnight batsman Puneet Bisht (20) with the score on 221, after which Bandeep joined hands with medium-pacer Ram Dayal (42) to put on 73 for the eighth wicket. He was eventually dismissed for 63 by D Siva Kumar, who finished with 4 for 49 in his 29 overs. Left-arm spinner Bhargav Bhatt also added two more wickets to his tally, to finish with 4 for 122.

In reply, Andhra were 72 for 2 at stumps, having lost both their openers, trailing J&K by 262 runs.
