Full commentary

Right so, another game done and dusted. Sid Talya's updated match report will be up here in a bit. Do read it on your way out, and we look forward to your company for Cobras v Mumbai Indians tomorrow. This is Nitin Sundar signing off on behalf of the gang at ESPNcricinfo. Cheers!

Presentations time, and Ravi Shastri booms away as always.

Kallis: "We played some poor cricket in the last two games, and we needed the senior playes to put up a big performance today, which we did. Brad got us off to a quick start, and after that we just had to stay there and see it through. Gambhir is a magnificent player. We missed him when he was injured, but it is great to have him back. There's always hope that we can sneak him. We should try and beat the Warriors first, and get the run-rate up and then sit around and wait for a bit."

Vettori: "We have posted 170 in the last 2 games and gone inside thinking we can win this, but our bowling and fielding hasn't been up to scratch. We are going to have to reflect on that quick, two must-win games now. We will probably rely on other results, but we need to do our bit and win the next two games. Bowling and fielding were our strengths in the IPL, so we need to correct that soon."

Gambhir: "We have the talent to win this tournament, and we have one more game. If we win, who knows. The way Brett and Kallis bowled in the first six overs was tremendous. But we do have concerns with our death bowling."

Two teams that have had two losses now in this group, and I think KKR have ruined RCB's tournament. I am not a quick math whiz, there might be an outside chance for one of them, but come on - let's be realistic. In hindsight, RCB's top order lost the game by dawdling away through the initial parts of their innings. Vettori and co did well to revive them, but this looked like a 190 sort of pitch. Everything came on to the bat so beautifully, as Gambhir would testify.

"Last thing you want is to fire up Gauti. Kohli - of all RCB players you should know that!" One way or the other, Gambhir looked fired up today. What a stunner, that innings.

17.3
4
Kohli to Kallis, FOUR runs

an amazingly easy win for KKR at the end of it all. Kallis clatters another length ball down the ground for four and that's that.

17.2
2
Kohli to Kallis, 2 runs

Kohli pitches it up on off stump, Kallis flays the drive down the ground and Gambhir charges back for the second.

17.1
1
Kohli to Gambhir, 1 run

fired in on middle and leg, Gambhir works it to midwicket for one.

6 to win off 3 overs.

4
Nannes to Kallis, FOUR runs

if the last over from Nannes was bad, this one is beyond describing. The line's gone, the length's gone, the run up is gone. And they have murdered him. He ends with an over-pitched offering wide of off stump, and Kallis steamrolls it up and over the covers.

16.5
1
Nannes to Gambhir, 1 run

Nannes goes a foot outside off now, Gambhir dabs a single to point.

16.4
6
Nannes to Gambhir, SIX runs

Gambhir uncorks another classic stroke. Brings up a fine 50 in 30 balls. The concussion has worn off, and old Gauti is back. He walks inside the line now, Nannes angles it down the leg side again, and Gambhir seemed to predict that. He just whooshed it over deep backward square leg with wrists of steel.

Some repair work on the crease, helps everyone take a breather.

16.4
1w
Nannes to Gambhir, 1 wide

Nannes loses his footing, there's some dew in the air. He slips as he delivers, another big wide. Dilshan dives away like a goallie and pouches it.

16.3
6
Nannes to Gambhir, SIX runs

majestic from Gauti. Stays put in the crease, the length ball comes on nicely in the slot and Gambhir thumps it with a golf swing down the ground. A good shot that, in any format of the game.

"Kohli's action reminds me of the legendary Indian bowler Debashish Mohanty." Deepak, I like your legendary usage of the word legendary.

16.3
1w
Nannes to Gambhir, 1 wide

another Nannes bumper heads down the leg side for a wide.

"CL T20 has 10 teams and tournment complets in 16 days. Why IPL taking nearly 2 boring months when they too have 10 teams (or less)." In more ways than one, that's a million dollar question, Siva.

16.2
1
Nannes to Kallis, 1 run

full again, and a tight line this time. Kallis turns it off the toes to square leg for one.

16.1
4
Nannes to Kallis, FOUR runs

Kallis gets 50 with one of his luckier boundaries. Full ball well outside off, he bottom-edges the steer between the bat and the stumps for four. Dilshan was standing in a different zip code.

Nannes continues.

"Hoping for an inexplicable collapse from KKR now. Mad running between the wickets and bad shot selection. Bring it on!" Looks unlikely Kunal. Two class players out there, and some good ones to follow.

15.6
1
Vettori to Kallis, 1 run

straightening from middle and leg, Kallis opens the face and dabs to point for one.

15.5
1
Vettori to Gambhir, 1 run

another yorker, Gambhir hauls it down to long-on for a single.

15.4
Vettori to Gambhir, no run

Vettori yorks him now, Gambhir digs it out to the leg side.

15.3
6
Vettori to Gambhir, SIX runs

Gambhir mows a full ball into cow corner. Comprehensive and clean. Moves the right leg out of the way and smashes the leather off this one.

15.2
Vettori to Gambhir, no run

Gambhir advances and yorks himself. Digs it out to the off side.

15.1
1
Vettori to Kallis, 1 run

flat ball on off stump, Kallis cuts it away square for one.

Last throw of the die. Vettori's on.

Kallis dabs to a stiff-looking Gayle and gets another single in before Dilshan can collect the throw and take the bails off.

14.5

speared in flat on middle, Kallis nudges it softly into the vast vacant areas at midwicket and Gambhir sprints back for the second.

back of a length outside Gauti's off stump and he dabs to short third man for one.
