7.00pm Still drizzling, and there are puddles on the outfield. It isn't the crazy intensity of about 15 minutes ago. Don't expect play for about an hour, at least.

Can anyone work out a scenario in which KKR stay in the tournament if today is a washout? I can't see how they can qualify.

The only way a 6-point team can advance is if the overall numbers are 16-6-6-6-6, and since they still have the Titans to play, it can't happen. (Otherwise put: Auckland and Daredevils would have to have a no-result of their own to keep either from reaching 8. And then they'd both have to lose their remaining matches--but if they do, then Perth gets 8 from those." Top work that.

6.45pm It's a downpour in Durban now. Chances of a washout increasing. Here's what it looks like now.

6.30pm The rain has got a little heavier now. Some lightning around Kingsmead, and a pretty stiff breeze as well.

Heinz Schenk, the cricket writer for the Citizen, informs us the rain has become "massive" now. We could be in for a long delay.
