The stronger team won the day. Simple as that. It was absolutely top effort from Ervine. Right from the start, he looked so cool, so collected and in control. Much credit to Taylor who laid the platform with a responsible innings.

Sudha: "As an Indian supporter, am a bit disappointed. But what a game by Zimbabwe and Erwine! But when a country has seen such a turmoil on the political and economic fronts, its amazing to see the never-say-die spirit in the way they played today. Congratulations to Zimbabwe. "

Please hang on for the quotes from the post-match ceremony.

Suresh Raina: "They batted really well. They had a good partnership. We didn't bowl well, couple of guys are playing their first games. hopefully we will learn from this. Mishra bowled well, Jadeja too. We need to work on our bowling and fielding department and come back."

Chigumbura: "I left the team down a bit in the morning with my bowling. The batsmen played really well. Only one seamer, Chris, bowled well but the spinners bowled really well for us. It was a good start .. credit for Ervine and he has to make sure that he gets consistent. He played very well today."

Man of the Match is Brendon Taylor: " I am very happy. It (man of the match) doesn't come often. I have always enjoyed my keeping. We basically wanted to bat through. Try not to lose too many wickets and give it a go later. We just wanted to knock it around in the middle overs. We knew Elton and Blignaut and Coventry to come in. It was a good all round performance on a flat wicket. It was nice to see all the guys chipping in."

That's it from us. The stronger team won the day. Simple as that. Thanks for logging on.

Dinda to Chigumbura, FOUR runs

That must taste real sweet. Zimbabwe have clinched a comfortable win. They have done it with 10 balls to spare. It was the short delivery and Chigumbura goes for the pull and top edges it over the keeper. Fabulous innings from Ervine. And Chigumbura made sure the debutant's effort didn't go to waste.

Just one more now.

he loves those pull shots. Yummy! It was short in length and Ervine pulls it to the midwicket boundary. Yusuf rushes after it and makes a diving stop. his elbow has touched the boundary line as he was about to push it back. ... Third umpire, rightly, reckons it's a four. And stand up and applaud. It's fifty for the debutant. Calm. Cool. solid. very impressive.
