Commentary

Pakistan have squared the series with a 38-run win, and their satisfaction is evident. Shoaib is hopping around like a youngster! We will be heading to the Rose Bowl on Wednesday with this series well and truly alive. It seemed as though off-field distractions had finally caught up with Pakistan as they struggled through a lacklustre first innings before Abdul Razzaq's late rollicking cameo boosted their score into competitiveness.

Andrew Strauss and Steve Davies then gave England a great platform with a positive 113-run opening stand but once they were separated Pakistan kept chipping away, knowing that reverse swing could prove decisive at the close of the innings under lights. Against the odds, they're clawed their way back from 2-0 and, with everything that's occurred off the field, there is bound to be continued interest ahead of the final game of the series. Stick with us for the post-match interviews and Man of the Match award.

First things first, Billy Doctrove gets an award for standing in his 100th match. Andrew Strauss: "Razzaq played exceptionally well and gave them some real momentum. We looked like we had the game under control but we couldn't keep our momentum going and Pakistan bowled really well with the old ball. We've got to look at where we went wrong, and we'll be doing that tomorrow. Pakistan have got a lot of matchwinners in their side, but it's important to remember it's 2-2 and winner takes all at the Rose Bowl."

Shahid Afridi: "250 was a very good total on this track, and I knew I had the bowlers to defend this total." Afridi has praise for all of his bowlers, giving them all a mention and adding: "The boys really performed to the best of their ability, and this is what Pakistan is really all about. Shoaib is 34, 35, he'll get some rest tomorrow but he's a fighter and he'll definitely play in the next game."

Abdul Razzaq is Man of the Match. "I wasn't feeling well, I had a sore back and that's why I missed the first two matches. When you play county cricket in England you get experience and it really helps in these situations. We had a plan at the end, I was waiting for those two overs."

And that's just about all from us. There's a tremendous gallery for you to marvel at, and Andrew McGlashan's bulletin is also well worth a perusal. We've still got a very important game to play in this series, so please do join us for that, with ESPNcricinfo's coverage starting at 13.00GMT, 14.00 local time on Wednesday. I'll leave you with this: Goodbye!
