Commentary

Sri Lanka move into a 2-1 series lead with a six-wicket win. A slightly bizarre finish at the end, but Chandimal did the job for his team, and thumps the badge over his heart as he walks off to a standing ovation. One always felt that England's 246 wouldn't be quite enough on a belter of a pitch, and Chandimal answered Cook's ton with a century of his own to take his team home. It'll be interesting to hear what Dilshan has to say at the presentation, stick with us for that.

"I am a SL fan, but that was the most disgraceful display of selfishness by Chandimal. Somebody needs to teach him :Country before self" Quite right Vis8, but a century at Lord's for a 21-year-old is a great moment for him.

Sanjiv: "@vis8 - Personally I dont think this is Chandimals fault at all. Angelo was defending every ball and was the senior man in the partnership. Also, Chandimal nearly got run out when he wanted a single and Angelo didnt so that clearly shows that Chandimal wanted things to move on." This issue is really splitting our feedbackers.

Match referee Alan Hurst, who will bow out at the end of this series, gets a special medal to commemorate his 100th match to start things off.

"We need to bounce back," a disappointed Alastair Cook says to Athers. "We kept losing wickets at the wrong time, we always seemed to be rebuilding. It's always nice to score runs, but disappointing to do it in a losing cause. There are a lot of areas we can improve on. We have to keep striving to take wickets on flatter wickets, these things don't change overnight and need hard work."

"We won comfortably in the end," says a smiling Tillakaratne Dilshan. "I was a little tense at the end, but they are youngsters, they are learning, and I'm happy with them," he says of Mathews and Chandimal's partnership. "This wicket was really flat, a 280-290 wicket. The important thing for Chandimal was that he won the game for us. We are very confident after the last two games, and looking forward to winning the series."

"I did well because I just played my normal game," says Man of the Match Dinesh Chandimal. "I thank my captain and team-mates for their support."

That's all from your commentary team. Thanks for joining us, and before you go we've got a plethora of post-match awesomeness for you to digest, including Andrew Miller's bulletin, Andrew McGlashan's Play's of the Day and a whopping great gallery. Join us on Wednesday for the fourth match of the series at Trent Bridge, where the first ball should be bowled at 1.30pm BST. Goodbye!
