5.30pm The celebrations begin in the England camp. They secure their first World Cup win over Australia since 1993. The result also means the hosts jump to the top of the points table.

It was a thrilling finish with the game boiling down to the last ball. Australia were left needing six off the last ball, but Gunn kept her head and kept Jess Jonassen to just two. She had earlier smacked 39 off 42 balls to help boost England to 259. Brunt was also central to the win, following up her breezy 45 with two wickets and a crucial catch. Hope you enjoyed the coverage as much as we did bringing it to you. This finish has really lit up the tournament. Karthik Krishnaswamy's report, which will be updated shortly, will tell you the full story of this blockbuster. Until next time, this is Deivarayan Muthu saying phew!

Brunt, Player of the Match: England-Australia is always a show. I am happy I performed well. We've got such a good line-up, and sometimes it is hard to bat up the order. We have had a lot of practice batting lower down the order. I think 200-220 was good. To finish with that [259] gave us the confidence. As I bowler, I don't really like bowling on these flat pitches. Both sides' bowlers varied the pace. It is always nice to get one up over the Aussies. It is the first one they have lost and you can never count them out. Just a wee one (what about the celebration tonight?)

Lanning: The crowd created a great atmosphere, and England were just too good today. The games against India and South Africa are going to be tricky. We have to bounce back and put on a strong performance.

Knight: We bat deep, Katherine and Gunn batted well today. It wasn't as good a wicket as the other day. We bowled really straight and the bowling was clinical. Chuffed with the way the girls bowled and really pleased with the win. We have worked hard on our variations at the death and just trusted the bowlers to do that.

Andy: "When did England last win 2 cricket internationals within 5 minutes? Lord's and Bristol joy! Rejoice!"

Amey: "Katherine Brunt, will you marry me? Whattey player!❤️"

smug: "Those 23 wides and godknowswhy decision to hand bowl to Villani in the last over seems to have made the difference, and 'English' fielding."

Gunn to Jonassen, 2 runs

length ball outside off, Jonassen slugs it across the line in the air. Has she middled this? For a moment it seemed Jonassen had got all of it, but she only drags it away to the left of deep midwicket. Australia only manage two, and England win by three runs. What a finish. Needless to say, this has been the match of the tournament

Australia need six off the last ball!

Gunn to Jonassen, FOUR runs

pretty full and outside off, drilled away with immense power to long-off. Sciver, who had dropped a dolly earlier, falls to her left and fumbles the ball away to the boundary. She crumbles under pressure! In fact, this game has been full of bloopers. Will it prove costly?

W
Gunn to Gardner, OUT

Brunt runs to her left from long-on and pouches the catch. Full and dips late on middle - Gunn's slower balls have been difficult to pick and been un-hittable - Gardner races down the track, and miscues it. Gets a lot of height but not distance. England close in on a famous win

77kph, slower and fuller outside off, the batsman can't manufacture enough power. Stabbed to long-on

Australia need 16 off the last over to march into the semis. Gunn had provided the finishing kick with the bat. Can she now do it with the ball?

full on middle and the batsman moves to her right exposing two of her stumps, she charges but misses the nudge to the leg side, hits her front foot and the bowler appeals. The umpire is quick to raise his finger. The batsman reviews that, hits her plumb in front of off stump, that would've crashed into middle and leg. She's a gone-r

K Sciver-Brunt to Perry, OUT

Sciver makes up for the drop!, full and slow on middle stump and Perry goes for the slog, not powerful enough this time and it's in the air! Natalie Sciver comes under that at a straight deep midwicket position and settles herself. She cups her hands above her head and holds on to the catch. Her feet are centimetres away from the boundary
