Player of the Match

This has been a different Australia today to the one which lost to Zimbabwe the other day. And, ominously for the rest of the teams in this tournament, they look like their old serves: dominant and clinical. Hayden finishes with 67 not out; he remained unruffled throughout. Emphatic is the word, and Ponting and his men have certainly started to take this tournament seriously. So, England and Australia through to the Super Eights, then, and Zimbabwe are out - on an inferior run rate.

Ponting states the obvious: "We're a fair bit happier today. Today was a pretty comprehensive win. We did the job with the bat today." Collingwood ends how he started - by admitting there are areas that England need to improve on, particularly the batting. True enough. Bracken picks up the Man of the Match award for an intelligent, controlled spell of bowling that helped to knock over England.

Thanks for joining us today. Next up will be India's tussle with Pakistan so do switch over to the live scorecard for that match coming up shortly.

From me, Jenny Thompson and Martin Williamson (with Andrew Miller on bulletin duty), it's goodbye.

1
Schofield to Symonds, 1 run, ...yes, a drive through mid-on to complete a handsome win

Last ball coming up?

14.4
1
Schofield to Hayden, 1 run, loopy full toss down leg, paddled almost sympathetically round to fine leg
14.3
4
Schofield to Hayden, FOUR, driven wider of mid-off this time
14.2
4
Schofield to Hayden, FOUR, driven again through mid-off - nearly taking out Symonds at the other end - and the end is nigh
14.1
4
Schofield to Hayden, FOUR, typical Hayden: one step, boom; a powerful (aren't they all?) drive through mid-off

END OF OVER:

1
Flintoff to Hayden, 1 run, pushed up there outside off and driven back out straight
13.5
0
Flintoff to Hayden, no run, driven to cover

Flintoff's looking a bit ginger with his ankle, that could be very worrying for England

13.4
1
Flintoff to Symonds, 1 run, full delivery, driven out to mid-on

Went straight into his hand and Flintoff's reaction was bordering on the insouciant - then again he didn't have much time to react; that was travelling. Symonds in now with a chance to finish off the job quickly
