Guyana Amazon Warriors 160/6(19.1 overs)

9.46 pm The team that displayed the better strategy won today. It was an epic game, let's not forget that, but one team played their cards better than the other. Tridents, with ten wickets in hand and despite Dwayne Smith's 100, accelerated too late into their innings and fell 15-20 runs short. On the other hand, Amazon Warriors were smart to send in a pinch-hitter in the form of Sohail Tanvir and allowed their middle-order more stability with Guptill at two-down. The tournament is, once again, wide open. We'll leave you with that thought. Hope you enjoyed ESPNcricinfo's coverage of the 19th CPL match. Till next time, from Sreshth and Shashank, it's adios!

9.42 pm Winning captain Martin Guptill says: "Hopefully we can win on Tuesday too. We thought we should utilise our front-six overs better and we had a chat with Tanvir if he could open. Losing myself and Chadwick in back-to-back balls was disappointing, but I was never nervous. I've been trying to tell the guys that cricket is supposed to be played with fun."

Losing captain Kieron Pollard says: "Not disappointed, but concerned with our performance. Conceding too many runs, and the fielding has been poor today too. We have two international bowlers, and we knew they were going to come hard, but they batted well. We need to believe in ourselves more. The three games we lost, went down to the final over. Smith batted really well, especially since we lost Malik."

9.35 pm Unsurprisingly, Chadwick Walton is the Man of the Match. He says: "It's a do-or-die game so the win will boost our morale. I was concentrating on the target and not the hundred (that he missed out on). We will fight to the end, and that's what we preach and we will continue to do that." Stick around for post-match comments from the two captains.

9.33 pm What a match we had today. One ton, one player out in the nineties, a couple of batting hiccups and some beautiful bowling spells on display. Amazon Warriors, on four points after the win, are now tied on points with losers Barbados Tridents. The tournament is wide open now as Guyana put their hat into the qualification-mix once again.

1w
Springer to Fudadin, 1 wide

good length outside the leg stump, Fudadin lets that go past him and that's an anti-climactic finish to this game. Amazon Warriors win by four wickets

Nanda: "GAW are making a proper khedgeree of these last few runs. " -- Not sure what that is, but I thoroughly agree.

19.1
4
Springer to Fudadin, FOUR runs

full on middle stump and Fudadin releases the pressure with ease. Hits that over mid-on's head and that's an all-important boundary. Scores are tied

Pollard's four overs yielded him four wickets for only sixteen runs. His best CPL figures. Who will he give the final over to? Amazon Warriors need five off the final over.

slow and wide outside off, mistimed to point. The non-striker calls quickly for a single and scampers through. What an entertaining over

18.4
1
Pollard to Fudadin, 1 run

good length on middle stump, worked with the bat's open face towards the off side. Sanity prevails.

Pollard to Paul, OUT

oh Guyana Amazon Warriors what are you doing? Full on middle and Keemo Paul, who has not faced a ball yet, looks to slog that over cow corner. Flies high and straight down Williamson's throat at long off. Pollard's on another hat-trick. Unreal stuff, this.

Keemo Paul c Williamson b Pollard 0 (1b 0x4 0x6) SR: 0

wow, unbelievable stuff. Pollard stops mid-way through his delivery and warns the non-striker for the Mankad. He could've easily run the non-striker out if he wanted to

18.2
W
Pollard to Mohammed, OUT

full on off stump and that's been crisply driven on the up back past the bowler's head. Again, not the elevation Mohammed wanted and Tion Webster takes an epic catch at long off. He overran from wide long-off, loses his footing as well, but manages to hold on to that catch. It was coming towards him at some pace. Pollard is delighted, and why not? That's two dot balls

Jason Mohammed c Webster b Pollard 5 (8b 0x4 0x6) SR: 62.5
18.1
Pollard to Mohammed, no run

slowe ball, good length just on off stump, played with soft hands towards cover and Mohammed wants a quick single. He's halfway down the pitch before the non-striker sends him back. He would've been gone if they took that run

Pollard to continue. A crucial over, this

Springer to Fudadin, no run

short on middle stump, quick one that the helmet-less Fudadin tries to pull. Too quick for him as it flies past the his blade's top edge and to the keeper. The batsman wanted the wide for height

Fudadin has taken his helmet off. It's been 21 balls since the last boundary

full on off stump, gives it all as he drives that square on the off side. Straight to sweeper cover.

17.5
1w
Springer to Mohammed, 1 wide

Slow and full, but the line's awry. Goes down the leg side.

The crowd in Guyana went quiet last over after the two wickets. They've begun to find their voice once again

17.4

Springer to Mohammed, 2 runs

attempted yorker on off stump, eventually a low full-toss that's squeezed away to the sweeper-cover fielder

17.3
1
Springer to Fudadin, 1 run

slower ball, good length on middle stump, played with soft hands towards short cover and they call early for a single. They take the run but the throw is quick and accurate. The stumps are broken! Time for the third umpire. No, he was well in at the non-striker's end.

17.2
1
Springer to Mohammed, 1 run

full on off stump, played down the ground. Long off runs forward to ensure that's only one

17.1
Springer to Mohammed, no run

full on middle stump, almost a yorker, dug out. Straight to Springer

Fourteen runs needed off three overs. Springer into the attack

slower, full on leg stump, driven straight to short mid-wicket

Two new batsmen in the middle now. Neither have faced a ball yet. Pollard on a hat-trick

16.4
W
Pollard to Walton, OUT

good length on middle stump and oh dear Chadwick Walton what have you done? He tries to slog that over long on, but the ball finds his blade's toe end. It's a skyer, and mid off takes a simple catch running backwards. Is there a twist in the tale? We wouldn't be surprised if there was.

Chadwick Walton c Williamson b Pollard 92 (57b 7x4 6x6) SR: 161.4
16.3
W
Pollard to Guptill, OUT

it's slow once again but Guptill is prepared for it this time. Muscles that over the bowler's head but it does not have the elevation. Long-on swallows that and there's the breakthrough! The captain has to go.

Martin Guptill c Williamson b Pollard 27 (33b 0x4 0x6) SR: 81.81

Mark Row: "This has been well played by Guyana Amazon Warriors. They've rotated the strike well and I think Guptill is allowing Walton the chance to get a century knowing they have this in hand."

16.2
Pollard to Guptill, no run

clear strategy from Pollard, slow on middle stump, defended again
