David Hussey and Cameron White booked a home final for Victoria with an incredible win against Western Australia, passing the visitors' score of 201 with 11 balls to spare. The Bushrangers debunked the theory that big run-chases are virtually impossible in Twenty20 and became the first team to win batting second in the nine matches this season.
White got the home team away to a flying start, following up his Man-of-the-Match performance for Australia with 50 from 29 deliveries. But it was Hussey who put the target within reach, smashing seven sixes and six fours in his 36-ball 86. The 14th and 15th overs were a pivotal time, as Hussey helped Victoria take 38 runs from the two overs, bowled by Peter Worthington and Sean Ervine. Hussey fell soon after but Michael Klinger easily pushed the Bushrangers to victory with 30 not out and brought up the win with a six.
Luke Ronchi had put Western Australia in the box seat, hammering 76 from 39 deliveries to give the Warriors a solid platform for a huge score. But Andrew McDonald slowed the progress, claiming Ronchi in the 14th over and finishing with 3 for 33. Victoria will host the KFC Twenty20 final on Saturday.
