3:08pm: Harbhajan Singh won the toss. Nadeem spins the coin and Harbhajan says 'Heads' and referee Narayan Kutty confirms that North advances, chants from the North players. So, toss of coin sealed the fate of the first semi-final of Duleep Trophy and North Zone will play against South Zone in the Thursday finals. After losing lot of sessions due to bad weather and outfield there's no way where a first innings lead can be decided through play, not an ideal way to finish the things off here. Cheers for following the game on Cricinfo and do join us for the final. This is Chandan Duorah signing off, bye!

2:55pm: Finally the climax! Match has been called off by the umpires after having the final check and now all eyes are on the Coin Toss. Let see who gets lucky, Harbhajan or it will be Nadeem? Pure luck there you see.

Dharma: "In a 4 day match (initially, it was a 4 day), how can you play for 7 sessions and give only 5 sessions for opposition especially when rain is forecast for day 3 and day 4? I guess North zone made a mistake. They will be more unhappy than east zone if toss of coin decides who will proceed to final."

Umpires inspect the conditions for the third time but outfield has not pleased them. They decided to check it once again at 2:30pm.

Kiran Tom: "I am sitting in my office just half a kilometer away from the Kochi stadium. It's very bright and sunny here and no sign of further rain. Hope the match starts soon and it ends in a decent manner. Coin toss will be devastating for the losing team."

saravanan pandiyan: "god must allow bhajji to continue his good form..pls umpires allow the match to go on the north zone looks very worried to face bhajji i think bhajji will finish of the match with in few hours if allowes..fingers crossed"

11:56am: Pathak and Shastri inspected for the second time and still not happy with the adjoining areas close to the square. They took a good look of the entire ground and decided to have an one more look after lunch at 1:00pm.

saravanan pandiyan: "guys pls make an update now..i am eagerly waiting for bhajji's mass bowling and heroics" We are still waiting for an update.

9:20am: There was an early shower this morning, it's bright and sunny as of now though. Both the umpires had a check and Suresh Shastri informs that they are going to have an another inspection at 11:00am. There are certain areas in the outfield which looks a bit of worry, the pitch looks good. We would also like to inform you guys that if there is no play or a first innings lead is not achieved by the end of the day, the winner will be decided by a 'Spin of Coin'.

9:00am: Good morning everyone. We are just few minutes away from the start of a big last day of this first semi-final of Duleep Trophy.

Day 5:

2:51pm: Umpires have called off for the day and will use the reserve day tomorrow. Play will start at 9:15am and it will be called off as soon as we have a first innings lead. Do join us on the final day, till then take care, cheers!

2:47pm: As per the latest updates, rain has stopped. However outfield is not yet dried up for the commencement, no official updates on the next inspection too. We'll be back as soon as we have anything positive to report.

Sugumar: "In this score itself if the match get draw who will advance to the final." If there is no play or East Zone's first innings does not end by today they will extend the match till tomorrow.

12:51pm: It starts to rain now, so less hope of play today.

11:20am: Umpires have come out and made an inspection and have decided to have an another look at 12:30pm.

9:24am: Bad news is that we are going to have a delayed start due to wet outfield. There will be an inspection at 11am.

Good morning everyone. Welcome back to our live coverage of the fourth day's play.
