South Africa Emerging Players 206 for 5 (Delport 52, Wiese 40*) beat Netherlands 184 (Cooper 74) by 22 runs
Scorecard
A collective batting effort from South Africa Emerging Players, helped them hold on to a 22-run victory over Netherlands in Windhoek. South Africa Emerging were put into bat, and their top-and middle-order weighed in. Contributions from Christiaan Jonker (37), Cameron Delport (52), Dwaine Pretorius (33) and Yaseen Vallie (25) propelled them along. David Wiese's cameo of 40 from 14 balls, including four sixes, helped catapult them to 206 for 5.
Netherlands, in reply, looked to keep pace early on with some big hitting. Despite losing Michael Swart with the score on 17, Wesley Barresi and Tom Cooper put on 49 for the second wicket, followed by Cooper and Daan van Bunge putting together 75 for the third. They had reached 131 for 2 in the 14th over and had done all required to set a platform for the later batsmen. But they would lose five wickets with just 13 runs added to lose their way mid-way through the innings. Losing Cooper for 74 was the decisive blow, and despite some late fireworks from Michael Rippin and Pieter Seelaar, they could not close the gap, losing by 22 runs.
