Hansra leads Canada to second win

A round-up of the second match-day in the ICC Americas Region Division One Twenty20

Jimmy Hansra helped Canada notch up their second win of the ICC Americas Region Division One Twenty20, scoring 30 not out in Canada's chase of Argentina's 54 in a shortened match in Lauderhill, Florida. The match was reduced to eight overs a side and Argentina got off to a brisk start thanks to Alejandro Ferguson's aggressive innings. But wickets kept falling at the other end and Argentina couldn't reach a big enough total. Canada lost just one wicket in their chase, and reached the target with five balls to spare.
Bermuda also picked up their second win, beating Suriname by eight runs on the Duckworth-Lewis method. Suriname had to get 50 runs off five overs, after Bermuda had scored 160, the highest total of the tournament so far. Suriname got to 41 for 3, with seamer George O'Brien taking two wickets. Bermuda's total was built on half-centuries by the opening pair of Lionel Cann and captain David Hemp. Cann's 63 came off just 35 balls, and he dominated the 93-run partnership with Hemp. Wickets fell towards the end of the innings but Bermuda still managed a big total.
United States of America surged to the top of the table as they beat Cayman Islands by seven wickets. Fast bowler Timroy Allen ran through Bermuda's line-up, taking 4 for 8. Bermuda were all out for 72 with only two batsmen getting to double figures. USA lost a couple of wickets in the chase but knocked off the runs easily in the end, with Aditya Mishra scoring 28 not out.
