It took a captain's knock from Rawl Lewis to save Windward Islands from defeat against Trinidad and Tobago at Arnos Vale. Chasing 273, Windwards were wobbling at 11 for 3 before a couple of fifty partnerships took the match away from T&T's grasp. Ravi Rampaul, recalled to the West Indies one-day squad against England, did the early damage with three quick wickets before Donwell Hector and Alston Bobb fought back with a stand 62 for the fifth wicket. Lewis defied the Trinidad attack with an attacking knock of 66 which included four sixes and three fours. Rampaul finished with 4 for 35 while left-arm spinner Magnum Nanan took 2 for 39. Earlier, fast bowler Nelon Pascal took 5 for 57 to bundle out T&T for 168 after they had resumed at 112 for 6. Windwards retained their second place in the points table with 63 points.
Jamaica hung on for a nervous draw against Combined Campuses and Colleges (CCC) at Sabina Park, losing seven wickets chasing a challenging 312. CCC extended their overnight lead of 266 to 311 before declaring with eight wickets down. The hosts got off to a poor start when Donovan Pagon fell for a duck and the man who sparked the top-order collapse was the right-arm seamer Kevin McClean, who took 3 for 37. At 45 for 4, the tournament leaders looked in danger of folding up against the second-last ranked team in the competition but it was two half-century partnerships which steered them to safety. David Bernard added 57 for the fifth wicket with Wavell Hinds, who made a dour 31 off 144 balls. CCC clawed back when Hinds fell shorty after tea but a defiant unbeaten half-century by Carlton Baugh thwarted their plans. Baugh, who has already scored two centuries this season, continued his good form and added 64 with Bernard. Baugh's 123-ball knock included three fours and a six. He saw his team through to 190 for 7 and with the draw, Jamaica moved to 90 points.
