Scorecard
Ashley Nurse broke regional four-day competition record with a match haul of 14 for 40 and helped Barbados complete a comfortable innings and 101 runs win against Windward Islands, with the match ending 21 minutes after lunch on the second day. Nurse, playing in his first season of first-class cricket, picked up seven wickets in each innings.
Barbados chose to bat, but were unable to put up steady partnerships. The innings was built around Jonathan Carter, who scored 116 - his maiden first-class hundred - who came in at a score of 29 for 2, and was the last wicket to fall.
Kemar Roach chipped in with 24 and shared a useful ninth-wicket stand of 91 with Carter to revive the team from 121 for 8. The innings was wrapped up at 212, with Shane Shillingford picking up figures of 6 for 81. Barbados then picked up three quick wickets before the close of day.
Windwards resumed the next day at 31 for 3 but were shot out for 44 - the third lowest score in the history of the competition, Nurse and Sulieman Benn sharing all the wickets between them.
Facing a 168-run deficit, Windwards were asked to follow on but their reply did not start any better. Tyrone Theophile went without a run on the board, and the rest of the batting capitulated once again to the spin of Benn and Nurse.
Andre Fletcher's 27 was the only saving grace as the rest of the batting folded. Nurse took yet another seven-wicket haul in the match, finishing with figures of 14-7-30-7, while Benn picked the remaining three. Windwards were routed for 67, giving Barbados an innings and 101-run win.
