Nariman Marshall was a lower middle-order batsman, and occasional makeshift opener, who secured his place on the 1932 tour of England by virtue of good performances in the Test trials but he has few opportunities once there. The highlight was when he hit an unbeaten 102 batting at No. 9 to save the match against Somerset, adding 217 in 140 minutes with CK Nayudu. He also made 148 in a minor match against Eastern Counties shortly before the one-off Test.
