The death occurred late in May of Edward William `Ted' Adams, CBE, an esteemed administrator and former vice-president of the New South Wales Cricket Association.
His name was linked inseparably with the famous Sydney club, St George, for whom he
made the first century upon the club's attaining first-grade status in 1921-22. He was
elected club president in 1968-69. After 14 years as Sydney's deputy town clerk, he
became town clerk for six years from 1956.
